With the dozens of skills coaches we have can someone PLEASE teach Bugg how to

kick??

It was the exact same issue last year.

The fact that he knocked Mills out seems to have erased the serious shortcomings in his skills from our collective memories. He is full of endeavour, but seriously lacking in the skills to play senior football.

He has no depth in his kicking and should not be in the team

He misses too may getable shots as well.

He is a small forward expected to kick goals. If he can't kick get rid of him.

Fumbles, crap disposal  (handpasses to team mates under more pressure than him) and of course his usual miss from 30 out kicks.

Optimizes our team.

Can rot at Casey.

Not just his kicking. No one in history makes more mistakes. Drops marks, fumbles, misses goals, overruns the ball... the works. Not going anywhere with Bugg in the side.

Yep - wholly his fault that we're playing like spuds

Not wholly his fault, but gee it can knock the wind out of you when a team mate turns the ball over every possession and I mean every possession. Even his poster from 20 out gave them possession and yes I know that was facetious, but I thought that was nothing but a terrible game by a skilless footballer who destroyed every thrust we had when he got involved.

I would have delisted him at half time.

We will go nowhere if we play guys like him. They just kill you.

I said to my better half he should enjoy the last free kick of the game because it will be the last one of his AFL career.  He should never play seniors again.  He is a complete liability.  Surely even guys like Spargo and Baker would be better options.

I don't think he's best 22, but I'm not convinced Wagner, Harmes and ANB are either

Not much said about him last week, was there? 'Coulda had six'...'pressure acts'....blah blah

These players were shown up today as were others

Goodwin has to adjust to Oliver, Petracca, et al copping heavy tags every week from now on

15 goals to one after quarter time

It's kind of telling that the Hawks slotted goals on the boundary at 50, nailed set shots from every angle, but a guy like Bugg can't kick a single goal from numerous bread and butter shots. A small forward should have been in his element today. Bugg, Garlett and others around our goals have glaring weaknesses

YEP, he's nothing but a liability.

He'll never be a premiership quality forward, let alone midfielder.

He's only supported when the team plays well around him. He just plods along.

I blame the selectors who are picking him.

From now on. It's the selectors fault if we pick him. He is a clear liability so why hate on him when he gets selected.

I’ve never disliked a player like I do Bugg, he has very little skill and poor decision making, he had a rare good outing last week, he is inconsistent and not up to the level required.

And people thaught I was mad for questioning his inclusion in the side this week.

Bugg's a spud but I would give him 1 more week, unfortunately we can't drop them all.

You're right in that we can't drop them all.

You're wrong to give him another week.

He's a momentum killer. @ProDee was right. His 4 goals last week was the worst thing that came out of that game. He can't kick, he can't handpass and he's fumbly. We simply cannot feature him in our forward line. Get him out.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
