O'Brien killed us last year. From memory, he took a game high 10 marks. I'd play Lever on him and he'll be able to sag off him and intercept as well.

Oscar goes to Roughead, providing he plays.

Jetta, Hibberd and Hunt or Frost to take Rioli, Breust and Impey.

Isaac Smith's speed and ball use is a worry in midfield and off half back. I'd play Harmes in a defensive role on him. (play Melksham as second ruck)

I'd also consider trying Vince for a quarter in a tagging role on Mitchell or allow Clarry to go head to head with him.

Why you say that AF? Not watching game, did something go down?

Tigers are closing down the 45° chip kick hawthorn love doing coming out of defence. Making hawks look like a bottom team bombing down the line to either outnumbered or outsized forwards. I think weid will get a game next week and play back up ruck and forward.

This is the kick that we continually allow. It's the kick that Geelong utilised every time out of their defence.

I agree. Thats probably why i noticed it. Hawks have hit it a couple of times and been able to move the ball quickly into the forward 50 resulting with shots on goal.

Gee just on the train and stopped at Richmond. The games still going and the platform is full of hawks fans. Gee they can't even stay until the end. This is a club that recently gave them 3 flags in a row. Sheesh try supporting a club that doesn't giveyou finals for 12 years.

Mind u there are Richmond fans that left early which I don't get either.

Darcy Parish possibly the most overrated footballer going round. Thank God we went Oliver.

I like how Essendon were rubbish defensively last year. So they recruited 3 front runners with no defensive attributes. Good strategy.

And to think after round 2, 2016 that some people on here were convinced of the opposite.

Just goes to show when you post after a disappointing loss that you should take a deep breath before doing so.

Essendon challenging the Saints for the worst quarter of footy here. Glorious.

The best defence is a mediocre offence.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
