Me too , Sorry Sam I really didn't think you were going to make it. How wrong was I ?  A truly brilliant game.

Che??? Can't see why you went back so far to quote me. At the time Weid could well have been considered whipping boy. Nothing to see here

Upward trend with the Weeds - thats for sure. Last 3 games have got better and better.

Was on tonight!

Jesse will have to wins his flags with Casey. Can't fit him in the 22 now

Harsh

No doubt with Jesse not being the required target the team balance has changed and we’ve become more threatening probably because we’re less predictable.

Jesse had been going up the ground more to become a more versatile player prior to his injury and when you consider his better application to chasing and tackling this year, the signs are there that he will be a real contributor next year.

Long Live Jesse !

How can we honestly fit Max, Hogan, Tmac and the Weid all together

We can't it's a ridiculous structure, far to top heavy for the modern game.

Named BOG in the afl.com match review.

This is a kid  whos a key position forward, playing just his 18th AFL game and 1st final.

Wowee.

Maybe time for Hogan to go back...

A standout performance like that  in a final is worth ten home and away matches.  We could have a pretty special player on our hands here...

Going to be referred to over and over now. He's starred in a game that was ferocious, was either best on or in the bests depending on your point of view, against the best D in the game... in a final. That's it. You can't question his pedigree anymore.

Easily. Jesse would dominate as a roving third tall, his tank would allow him to run between mid and forward and create a real nightmare for opposition match-ups.

If I was his manager I wouldn't let him get stuck in the VFL for half of next year after his performances of the last three weeks.

I have been been telling youse for 2 years.... Weideman is an absolute star, his VFL games have been insane and Key Position players take a few years to develop well....He will be a key player for many years to come, im drunk as hell but what a fan[censored]tasticgame by Sammy!!!! Carn the Deees!!!!!

And Preuss!

I think Jesse goes to a wing and pushes forward at times. Same as T Mac!

Haha how far has this thread come from the start of the year me asking why I hadn’t heard much about him over pre-season! He’s definitely not the forgotten man now! What a way to have a break out game and announce yourself!

He won’t be

Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

The modern game hasn't happened yet. Who would have thought a bunch of fast 5 footers would win Richmond a Premiership, maybe 2 at the end of 2016? All of Hogan, Weideman and McDonald are very mobile. Exciting times ahead. I suspect quite a rivalry between us, Richmond,  Collingwood and GWS will develop over the next decade. Oh yes and and I was an early doubter of Weideman but boy was that first quarter fantastic

I can't believe how good Sam was. Absolutely insane. 3 goals, 24 disposals, 7 marks, 3 contested, 2 marks inside 50, 4 tackles, 2 clearances 70% disposal efficiency.

I knew he had talent, but for him to rise to the occasion in an elimination finals game, and be one of our best is so awesome for Weed's momentum and confidence going forward. So excited to see how he develops further. Not sure how we fit all of Weed + Hogan + Tmac into the side.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
