Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Goodwin says Viney & TMac out for 6-8 Weeks

Agreed. TMac is a far bigger loss. It could be time to sit down with Weiderman and talk about “getting ready” sometimes you gotta push yourself beyond the point.

He needs to back himself.

TMac is a big unit. That front toe holds a lot of weight when it can, when it can’t it breaks down real fast.

6-8 weeks could be indefinite....

This is where the ridiculous delayed start of the VFL begins to hurt. MFC seniors have completed round 3 before the first Casey VFL game begins.

1-2 weeks to deload, 1-2 weeks to rehab, 2 weeks to train/play. Think if it goes well Tom can be back under the 6 week mark. Just hoping for no further set backs for Jack.

WTF? 2 weeks to de-load? You're kidding.

You hope he gets through it ?

It's bloody annoying but it's a minor injury in isolation.

Far from a minor injury. That’s the whole point

every time you walk you put 100 kg’s of weight through it continuously...

A sore toe or hotspot in a toe is a minor injury.

Do some research.  They're very common and treatable.

The timing is obviously annoying.

Don't worry  we've got this.

Thanks, Praha, your confidence should be contagious.

All is unfortunate regarding noted absences but in general, we should knock this one off - for a change - quite well.

We do have an impressive list and the sense of desire amongst the players is high.

They are now too competitive amongst themselves for spots in the team (at last), so their awareness of error, fades or any other poor performance criteria are maximal. It will mean missing weeks of football at that level to get back into the team on the ground as those who will be selected and rotated will be uncomfortably aware of not conforming/performing to the standard required by a team with such ambition this season.

This is the first step on our stairway to heaven. It is only tired, old, readable, travelling Geelong, after all.

No wonder the Tigers with not an injury and a soft draw, did so well in an even competition.

I wish a pundit, when making his or her 2018 predictions, would acknowledge that EVERYTHING went right for the Tigers in 2017.

Sure 6-8 weeks is a minor injury.

Maybe to us reguliar folk who just meander down the street, but a load bearing injury in sport can stick around.

I did 11 years of Physio, so i have done a bit of research. Both reading and Participating....

Yes, in a football context 6-10 weeks is a very long time.

You just gave me the impression you thought it was career threatening, which it isn't.

Pedo is very much a different player though. confident he can step up but he doesn't demand the defense's attention in the same way McDonald does. Mcdonald is a big loss no doubt. i actually think we can more easily cover Viney than we can Mcdonald.

Agreed, but this will shorten TMc's season; which in itself, is great for the latter part of the year, IMV.

Like others this really xxxxxes me off.

My distress is more about the absence of T Mac. I had resigned myself to the long absence of Viney some weeks ago.

For a few years people have been talking about the need to trade for a decent back up KPP who can play ruck.

We are now one injury away from being in that position again. Love him or hate him Watts was not a useless pinch ruckman.

The Weid needs another year at Casey to show if he has the goods. Pederson might do it once again but who knows.

T Mac last week was a slight toe problem and should be fine for Round 1 or 2.  Now its Round 8.

At the bye our season will be over if we don't turn at 7-4 or better.

Strangely enough I am less concerned about the loss of T Mac as a forward than I am at the loss of our back up ruckman.

Rnd-12 - 2017,  we were 6 wins - 24Pts, entering the bye.

I feel sure we should surpass that.

I’m really angry, how unprofessional is this clueless club

Why do they hit us with this on the eve of the 1st game, Vineys been injured since Rd 16 last year. Tell us the truth!!!!

Why in gods name did TMac play in that AFLX garbage if he had an injury FFS!!!

And what about Dave Misson our Elite performance bullshiter, what the hell did he do for Garland, Mitch Clark & Trengove, ruined they’re careers that’s what..

Looks like the same things going to happen to Viney & VandenBerg .

Sick of being lied to by this mob

Only at Melbourne would two of its most important players being playing through foot injuries instead of being immediately rested/treated.

What the hell is going on ?  Are we STILL not  a professional club? Will we ever be?

I can't believe the amount of people who are not privy to relevant information who carry on like pork chops.  They think they've been lied to or that there have been cover ups.

These are the types of injuries where pain may or mary not occur after training loads.  One week Viney may have been pain free, so the club reports based on this feedback from Viney and the next week there may be a hiccup, which leads to a reassessment.

There's no sinister plot here.  And both of the original stress fractures are not what's causing the current pain, although they have led to the current ailment.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
