Round 1 Non MFC games

A couple of quality young players on the park tonight.  McGrath is all class and young Fogerty (sp?) for the Crows looks like he's got some talent.

Umpiring favouring Injectendon

crows without lever, cameron, smith, walker and bcrouch from their grand final side last year?

Lynch

BT two nights in a row..spare me.

Thank goodness the cricket's on, just have to put up with Warnie there...pretty close call actually

9-2 free kicks to the cheats

carn the crows!

So much over umpiring 2 nights in a row.

If Razor is not the most annoying umpire in the world i don't know who is

Crows at 1/2 strength and Essendrug one of the worst kicking sides I have seen.

Got him with the pick we gave them??

Wait for the thread bemoaning that one!

This game is almost unwatchable... ugly ugly football.

Gee Jake Stringer isn't the smartest tool in the shed. Forgot his wallet and his car pass so couldn't park underneath but still found time to put this story on social media where it's now removed after apparently an essendon official said probably not a good idea to put that online.

1.6 to 1.4 that quarter. Tough watching

highlight has been that cracking bump from Douglas. Footy is back!

Priorities elsewhere??

I like how they’re praising every basic footy thing Stringer is doing.

He’ll probably get a participation award at the end of the game.

Pannell & Nichols are right up there...

So far it looks like we don't get Razor or Pannell...please not Nicholls (just looked it up, he's got the Hawks)...

I like the pharmacy sponsor signs in the Essendon coaches box.

Behind a pharmacist.

Coz they’re drug cheats.

I can't see any contact to the head: I've seen all the replays. The commentators are either blind or just flucking morons, probably both.

He was known as 'The Chemist'.

Such a relief.

The bombers are as bad I thought they are

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
