I assumed it had all past and present player’s name on it (as seen in the image) and your name would be printed on the back between the shoulders. But given the time they’re taking to manufacture I’d suggest I’m wrong.

I don’t really want to pay $300 for a jumper with a heap of random names on it.

can i put you down for a dozen, ethan?

As long as I can make up 12 different names and you can guarantee they’ll get printed on the jumpers.

You would need approximately 3000 names or more on there for it to make the desired effect on the guernsey. At $300 a pop that's a pretty nice windfall for the club.

If they get the numbers

limited edition for 1,000 lucky mugs punters

Can we pass the hat around the site and all chip in to get a Demonland one? We can all share it for a % of the year.

I can confirm that it will be your name and whoever buys it in tiny letters on the front of the jumper and not printed on the back between the shoulders.

I assumed the same as you.

Nice jumper but not at $300. That’s 6 bottles of rum.

2, maybe 3 bottles of whiskey...more likely 2 or one and a few cigars.

who am I kidding... I ain’t paying that.

that's the blackest navy blue i've ever seen (assuming the colour is accurate on the mfc merchandise page)

The old jumpers around 60's, were very dark blue, in photos.

Ambivalent about this one at the moment. Shame the AFL logo is so prominent and the sponsors.

Could just have a commemorative jersey celebrating what a disappointment of a club we have been in recent years. I'm thinking a red and blue white strip with a white flag in the middle of the jumper....

Seriously our finals hopes are on the line and we roll out some nonsense jumper.

It's SWYLs birthday, Moonie.  OD is 10 years behind him.

The FB comments on the MFC post are amusing.

My favourite was this one:

"They should introduce a 'commiserations jumper' with the 22 pea hearts that played the final round of the season last year and the 22 that will play Round 23 this year wear it with their names on it. Yuck what an embarrassment. I've had a gutful".

WTF looks like an old Norwood training jumper!

No way!

between 150 and 160 we haven't played a single finals match lol

What if we wear this after losing to WC, then lose to GWS? 160th anniversary guernsey, with members names written on, while we bundle out of contention and miss finals for the 12th (!) straight season.

This should have been done earlier in the year. The timing really isn't ideal.

Anyone on here get their ‘members’ name on the jumper?

I hope we win this week otherwise it won’t end well come round 23 when you read the below from the MFC article.

The reason it will be worn in the final round is part of ‘Member thank you round’.

Fantastic! A great companion piece to commemorating our 12th successive season of missing finals.

Keep up the good work, MFC.

"Thanks for putting up with our [censored], members! 12 years old of finals! Couldn't have done it without you. See you at the draft!"

Imagine how horrible that would have been!

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
