Anyone know for definite if the open training session for the training camp up at Maroochydore is on the 3rd of February?

Depends if the players want to do it on this day

Yes I think the team needs a good rest after such a telling final series.

Hold on that's right they missed finals by the smallest of margins.

Get out and [censored] the weak pea hearted bastards.

I sense a theme, and it’s already getting tired after just two posts.

It was tired before Christmas, hardtack.  Every time something like this comes up we'll have the usual 'hilarious' comments about the cancelled camp, not going hard enough etc.

After putting us through 10 years of garbage and then finish 2017 off not only the last games performance but a player lead cancellation of a camp that focused in on mental toughness, we get the right to take little swipes like.

No it's a small taste of what will come their way this season.

I don't care about whether they did the camp or not but it showed abysmal connection between the coach and the playing group. This was another stuff up by a club that seems to move from one mini stuff up to another (need we mention the finals tickets email !!)

The players were back at training today and, clearly, everyone involved has moved on.

You guys should do the same.  Blaming anything that occurs this year on that camp is something a 5 year old might do.  It's a reflection on much of our supporter base these days, though - they can't let go of the past and look forward.  We expect the playing group to do it, so maybe we should do the same.

We could win the GF and there’d still be the usual suspects on here complaining because we didn’t win by 10 goals.

No we wouldn't as players would be meeting our expectations.  Some supporters want us to be successful and not accept anything less others are just passive and are still accepting hype

I want the club to be successful... I just see no point in dwelling on the past. What’s done is done, so look ahead.  I don’t accept the hype at all.

let go of the past... the latest stuff up was three weeks ago......still rather current I would have thought.

The MFC needs to be held to a standard and 2017 was not a good example in so many ways.

We improved in 2017 and all expect bigger improvement in 2018. Dwelling on what has happened is nothing but unproductive.

The 'hype' is the negative media believers who have no inner knowledge of the club and don't go to training but accept whatever rubbish the media whip up as being a true reflection of where the club is at.

If you seriously think that any Melbourne supporter doesn't want the club to be successful, or that the players aren't aware of what's required by the FD, god help you.

Players, coaches, staff etc all seemed to have moved on.  Bigger fish to fry.

We ALL want success for this club, but what does holding on to a meaningless camp do for that success?  Nothing.

No I think a every supporter wants and hopes the club is successful but there is as difference from wanting to expecting.  The mindset of good clubs is they expect to be successful and not hope

It’s nice to know we have at least two Brisbane based fans BD!

you must be delighted with 2 games at the Gabba inside 8 rounds...might even see you there for 1 of them

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
