Wow 2 short handballs and a chip kick. Such a gun. Would you like me to drum up videos of all the times he didn't make the distance kicking it from 30m out

Yeah man, would love to see those.

Go right ahead.

I just don't think it's dong him any favours playing him in the AFL at this stage of his career.

Time and getting a lot of ball at Casey, then let's see if he can step up.

At the moment he's a liability but he's not on his own.

This is the way I’ve been feeling most of the year. I saw enough last year that there could be a player in there...maybe.

But at this stage, struggling for form, he should be racking up numbers in the VFL, getting his hands on the footy and building up confidence.

Hunt and Hannan have been worse

Correct.

Hannan today not d grade amateurs standard. Hunt no better.

Should Play centre at Casey for the rest of the year, apparently thats his best spot. Bring on Lockhart.

Get rid of Jason Taylor too

Maybe the mods here could get rid of you?

I think he has great skill and a really good football brain. When he has the ball you generally know something is going to happen. However his size doesn't help him with regard to putting pressure on the opposition and means that he is often out-positioned.

I look at Lockhart, who is only 4cm taller, and I just think he has a lot more presence. If Spargo can learn how to work to the right positions (maybe it means he needs to bulk up a little), and Lockhart has his first preseason, they might make a pretty deadly duo

Sheeeit if he bulks up a little he will be slower than ever!! Nup not the answer!

Both play like they do not want the ball. One way of saying they need to toughen up. Their pressure and tackling was not good.

Hannan is a player that has always gone missing for large stretches of matches, like JKH, and has fallen into the 'better player while not playing' genre of players that some fans think we need to get into the team to turn our fortunes around. Meanwhile players who they want out, like Spargo are consistently getting to the ball and in on most of the action all day and so highly visible mistakes are bound to be made.

Phew, at least someone gets it.

(i.e., someone apart from the coaching staff).

Im sticking by Spargo.  Hes a 19 year old with the 2nd year blues, not helped by playing in a terrible team.

Spargo ain't got it no matter how long he spends at Casey "getting some form".

So you are hoping a player fails to justify your opinion, nice

I hope he proves me wrong and best of luck to him, but he's a list clogger who has never dominated at Casey

Perhaps the most useless but at the same time ironic label ever used on this site

Put him on the ball and make him work, work, work.

It's true. He's clogging the list, useless player

Exactly right, that's his go. Not the forward line. He'll prove a few on here wrong given time to develop in the midfield.

He’s got some good qualities I agree, and I thought he added something last year. But I’m really just not sure, no matter how hard he works,   that you can play AFL level consistently with a 30 metre kicking limit... and even then he shanks many of them.

What's with this story the keeps getting perpetuated that he has a small kicking limit?? I don't get that people cannot see that this is not true.  I can think of at least 3 goals he has kicked - and his last one against Collingwood was at least 40-45m out and went through above head hight... check out this clip here for evidence (1.05 mark)

I'd almost argue he has a larger kicking range than Hogan.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
