Interesting to see Curnow there. Considering we picked Weiderman before him in the draft. Are we seeing another Lucas Cook/Jack Darling debarcle?

Throw in Jack Martin too, he wasn't better than Trac this season.

I wouldn't have Petracca in that side.

Actually, that bench looks pretty ropey. Might squeeze him in.

No Petracca in the side is a ridiculous. I cant find the recent link but champion data had him in their best side of 2017 on a half forward flank based on statistical output. Being it was voted on by fans really removes any merit on the side.

Dusty with almost double Dangers votes for MVP, the man has had an insane season.

It's the way voting was conducted, Petracca could only be voted in a midfield spot. Voters were limited to certain groups of players for each spot. I.e. a defender list, midfield list, forward list etc. 1 spot on the bench each for a forward & defender listed player. As a result there were several midfielders limited by where they could be selected in a deeper pool of talent who should've made it in the forward line ahead of Rioli, Martin, Papley at a minimum, maybe ahead of some of the defender named too.

Petracca was definitely one of those.

Papley's come on a bit

The Rioli name seems to mean so much around footy circles but I am buggered as to how the richmond one got named.

Petracca didn't make the team as he was classified as a midfielder, despite playing 90% of the year at half forward.

As a forward he walks it it; as a mid, not so much...

I just explained how above. The forward spots were limited by a weak pool you had to choose from. It was a pathetic list and you couldn't choose a midfield listed player like Petracca instead.

Was listed as a midfielder. Ridiculous decision on the part of those responsible. Would've [censored] it in as a forward.

Comedy re: Hunt also:  So not being able to hit a target or nail a running open goal isn't a pre-requisite for selection?  Interesting.

Petracca was named in last year's side as a HFF, which anyone who watched the Dees for 5 seconds this year would have known is where he plays.

Obviously didn't watch him play much in the last month or so when he regularly lowered his eyes and hit up leads inside 50.

Check the replays of the Saints and Pies games in particular.

3 goals 1 and 7 goals 5 in his first two seasons isn't a bad return for someone who runs at blistering pace.

Hunt often bombs long to the hot spot in front of the goal square at an angle from the wing. It doesn't help his kicking efficiency stats but is does bring the ball quickly into the forward line and help our scoring.

Hunt kicked what should be goal of the year from the wing after the siren with a perfectly crafted torpedo. Poor kicks simply can't do that.

Poor disposal from Hunt is the biggest myth on demonland.

whether it is poor or not, it is certainly an area he needs to work on

clarification:  kicking after a log run that is
