He hasnt even commited to a club.

Geelong is going to the draft apparently and Sydney have confirmed they are out.

That leaves Port.

I just cannot believe we are dragging this out until the last day. I expected he nominated his club monday and the deal was done by, at the latest, this morning.  Clearly we are not as willing to settle for a crap pick?? Has Watts dug his heels in? Not according to Connors? What a farcical way this whole saga has been handled.

Toumpas and Watts together again at last.

This is the sort of snipe that really annoys me.  Whatever you think of Watts, he provided a lot more than Toumpas under a lot more scrutiny.

Deep breaths. In .... out ..... in .... out ....

Think of a peaceful forest.

Maybe go for a long walk.

It's okay. It's going to be okay.

Connors and Watts are the ones dragging it out, not the club.

He wants to go to Geelong but the offer is better at Port.

Problem is he is priority 3 with them after Ablett and Stringer. So they need to drop first

If Watts stays Casey has a new forward flanker :)

Might be some value there.  He might even be able to teach Weids how to split the middle from 20 meters out on occasions and kick them from more than 35 meters out.  500k well spent on something the current coaching crew haven't been capable of doing.

I see both sides. I am not against Jack staying, I do not believe that his position at the club is untenable. I think Tmac and Hogan as kpfs will suit Jack's game. He struggles when playing as a kf or in the ruck. If we trade him for a pick between 20-30 I am confident Taylor can find a good young player in that range, or alternatively a swap of second rounders for a higher pick may eventuate.

They are only 'out' until they are back in

Given his dad has come out and spoken in the media, I'd say his position is now untenable.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
