Sorry I thought this was a rumour topic

Connors using the Lever situation to do a bit of 'managing'

Bit disappointed with the bin situation, only ever produced a few cigarette butts,  copious amounts of shoulder strapping and well read but now discarded 'Key Defending for Dummies'

The change slots in the Parking Meters on Albert St are not what they used to be either

Wow, now Gawn is rumoured, so that makes Watts, Salem, Hogan even Tyson thrown up as possible trades to secure Lever.

Maybe we should go after Nathan Krakouer instead, would come cheap and I just read he busted up a taxi on the weekend.

Surely no club would let that happen......it would be akin, say, to getting rid of captain Barassi and coach Smith immediately after featuring in 11 consecutive final series, including 6 flags and 2 runners up.   Any club that did that would surely condemn themselves to decades in the wilderness.

Talking to a couple of Dees fans and the thought is that Kent is not a fan of the Coach. The reverse might also be the case.

If we want Balic an opportunity opens up.

Of all the likely trades, Kent worries me the least. Disappointment factor-zero.

Not sure why that would be the case. Dean is such a dedicated and hard working individual who performs at a consistently high level each week.

I'd trade him for pick 95 just to free up a spot on the list.

How do you know that he isn't just this?  Have you got inside information or are you just making assumptions from your own observations?

One only need look at him in a pre-season training singlet to see why.

That's a really strange comment I think.  It's based on an observation from a distance and not based on any fact at all.

I remember reading reports here that Pedo was fat.  I was at training the next week and he lifted his jumper to wipe his brow and he was ripped with not an ounce of fat.

Do you have any facts to say he was overweight Steve?

We are definitely in the market for a Ruckman after Spencer's delisting .

I doubt that they will go for a young project player, but word is that North will trade one of theirs .

Pruess, Daw or Goldstein, which one?

I didn't need facts to see that Pedo was carrying condition and I called it before pre-season had even started last year as did others. He ended up losing 10 kgs so you I'm assuming you saw him post weight loss. And I'm not calling these blokes fat. Because clearly they're not.

I don't mean to sound condescending, but if you've played any reasonably high level sport and have undertaken any sort of skin fold testing it's actually quite easy to tell who is carrying and who isn't.

At AFL level, it stands out. Kent is in the same boat as Pedo. Clearly, he is unsure of what an AFL athlete's lifestyle looks like. Just by looking at him, there's no doubt he could get his skinfolds down through both his diet and working harder on the track.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
