I think the Club are really confident we've got Lever and see Frost as a way of getting an early second round pick from a club like Western Bulldogs, Geelong, Collingwood, Carlton etc.

So we get Lever and lose Frost and then say Lever ( who has had his share of injuries already )and one of the Macs gets injured, what do we do then?

Upgrade Keilty, bring in Joel Smith or Maynard.  Or take Watts or Pederson back and bring Weideman in up forward.  In reality these would be temporary options for the duration of the injury.

I think we have the depth to cover short term absences.  This year has shown a few of our players are quite versatile.

If Frost goes we will miss him but I think we have options if injuries strike.

We have one player in defence beside Hunt, who will probably move to a wing anyway, who has pace and that is Frost.

I hope we keep him.

He's got x-factor, we could almost play him on a wing now.

Garland or Keilty I guess.

Wouldn't be surprised if we have our eyes on Port's Jackson Trengove (Free Agent). Can play Forward, Ruck and Back. A mr. fix it type.

Yes he can.

I think many forget, yourself included. No he can't...

When he was playing forward and in the ruck he could hardly get a touch. That's why the experiment failed.

He's one of those players that needs to see the ball coming at him. He can't create play as a wingman should because he's not a natural footballer.

So lets not get Lever and one of them gets injured. Frost has also had his share of injuries.

We've got Kielty, Smith, Garland or his replacement coming back plus Pederson who can also play back.

He is a great attacking defender but his aerial work is mixed.

He doesn't combine well with other talls and often spoils his own team mates.

Strong as an ox with ball in hand and a great runner.

Breaks tackles and has lightning pace. could easily have run the length of the ground a few weeks ago but he passed off.

Interested in how Frost feels if we make a big $$ play for Lever. Lever in ... then Frost goes but we would lack a big strong back except for tommy mcd

Not sure about that.  Lever is a fraction taller than Frost and the same weight.  And Oscar is bigger than both of them.  (Based on respective club websites).  So we would be no worse off strength wise.  Lever gives us much more.

I don't want to see Frost leave but accept sometimes these things happen.  I just hope if he goes it is to a Vic club as he wants to live in Victoria.  I guess he can refuse a trade.  The club in recent times has been very professional on how it exits players so the same would happen this year.

Great contribution Redleg. Brasso loved 'Crazy Horse' and he played in the '77 premiership winning team. What you got with Crazy - and I suspect what we get with Frosty - is full on, deadset commitment. Often a little agricultural, but a team player who will always be 'up for the fight' as it were.

I can see why some  would be nervous at losing Frost for his potential upside. He is a freak athlete and his ability to break the lines is awesome.

It's the basics that are the issue.  His judgement in the air is often appalling,  his positioning is all over the shop and his disposal is often scary.

If he improves those things he could be a great footballer.  If he doesn't then he becomes a player that you can't trust to give you a consistent output.

It gets down to making a judgement on his physical ability to improve in those areas and his coachability.

It's tough for us to make a judgement on coachability as it relies a lot on stuff that the average supporter can't judge just watching footy.

I want Frosty to stay.
Big, fast aggressive blokes don't grow on trees and if it true he's got the sulks being played in the 2s
it'll only be worse if we start shopping him around.

As for Lever,  I'll believe it when I see it and if we're not careful we'll lose Frost and have neither.

He has been worked out by the opposition that he hasn't got a big engine. Very good in the first half but drops off in the second half. So they now run him around early and then they get to run off him in the later part of the game. Club have told him but he isn't doing the extra work.

This may have been mentioned in another thread but 3AW Sports Day program last night mentioned that Frost has delayed contract talks and is not happy playing in the magoos. Could be part of the Lever deal. Thoughts?

He delayed talks before playing in the 2's.  3 clubs by the age of 22 doesn't look good for him

So, what part don't you get from my post...

I said he can't create and make the play and needs the ball coming at him...that's what happens when your at full back.

If we went back to when he was playing forward, ruck and in the midfield his possession stats would have been lucky to be out of single figures...

Plus I mentioned another 3 players who could come in before him. We are hardly stretched losing Frost if someone goes down...

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
