Oliver's handball.

September?

The missus, my wee Demon who was born start of season (that extends well beyond August & doesn't know anything different), Michael Hibberd, Jordan Lewis & whoever invented chicken salt.

Clayton Oliver - he gets a hard tag every week, breaks it and still dishes close to 3o sublime handballs a game.

then you give him a second and he can hit a target like Ablett Jnr.

............four consecutive wins over the dreaded Pies .   Just one more  ....please............PLEASE !

I am grateful for Hells Bells being played as the players run out, but then left shattered by the quick shut off and replacement of the Grand Old Flag.  I know its our club song but its also ACDC.  Its appropriate for our team.  Turn it up louder, don't cut it off.  Pump it up!!!! Its the right thing to do.

I'm grateful for Tom Wills, Henry Harrison and the others who invented the best, damn game in the world. Win, lose or draw, it's given me years of enjoyment (the wins, of course, being that much more enjoyable).

Anyone else reckon Clarry looks like Bluey Truscott?

He IS Bluey Truscott. Reincarnation, baby, reincarnation. Ommmmmmmmm..........

Having the MCG as our home ground. We shouldn't take it for granted.Imagine being moved to That Stadium!

The stress that Buckley is under with a potential lawsuit for his treatment of Heritier and of course the cloud of doubt over his performance ?

Jesus our lord for given us Jason Taylor who picked  Bluey Truscott the second, he will win many of them too, Eddie for being   so stubborn that he can never admit he's wrong Buckley will keep them out of the finals forever, Mr and  Mrs viney.

In no particular order . . .

The fact we invented the bloody game

The fact we have the most realistic and authentic supporters in the league (with Footscray just behind us)

This may be a cringeworthy comment for some / many / most, but for my many sins, I must live in an AFL 'backwoods' known as Canberra, and I'm extremely grateful to Demonland for keeping me in touch with everything, both real and unreal, about the Melbourne Football Club, as we approach September ...........  (having said that, I may well hate Demonland come Saturday evening ...... lol).

I had the unfortunate experience of living in SA for a period.  Sorry Croweaters, it is a beautiful state and has a lot of redeeming features particularly it's festivals, beaches and wine.

But for a football lover that craves football news, you may as well be on the moon. The only footy news consists of training reports and match reports of the Crows and Port.  It's the AFL but you may as well be listening to reports on the SANFL.

Living in Canberra is like living in a fog where anti-depressants and a weekly exit to a living place is the only solace.

Living in SA is like living in White Australia in the 1950s where there is no news outside the State. It's a strange feeling to be living in the middle of the country yet feel so isolated.

However, my best wishes to all those Norwood fans and mighty South Aussies that support the Demons and other Victorian clubs. There are plenty but I don't know how they do it!

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
