Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Didnt Cripps get kicked by Wagner or Hunt in the backline. Thats the footage they showed but said  it was Oliver.

Correctly described; Cripps thwarted an otherwise perfectly legal attempt to kick the ball by Hunt.

No malice. Poetic in a fashion perhaps.

Media get something wrong ?never

That's mischief afoot.

Total non issue IMO

Where's the hyperbole ?

Non issue....? Really...seems the AFL, the club and some fuckwlt would disagree. Clarry certainly did at the time.

Then he shouldn't be having a crack back at a fan during a game.  If he's big enough to play AFL, then he needs to have a thicker skin.

So he made a mistake reacting. I saw a 19 year old walk out alone to a doorstep press conference. I didn't see any club support. And it annoys me.

What did you want?  Mahoney rubbing his back while he did it?  Oliver can handle himself fine.  It's been dealt with and will be forgotten.  The club are far more professional than just thrusting him into the spotlight without having discussions with him first.

Wiseblood, I want a club official, media manager standing next to a nineteen year old player. I watched that press conference and they did try and trip him up.

How long until the media nuffies link 2 and 2 together and start blaming Clarrie for global warming?

The kid is on fire, surely the heat he's creating is causing the rising temperatures!

And I've heard he's heading up Apex (which previously had a no-ranga policy)

I just can't make sense of this one. I would think the club would at least say something about supporters not touching players?! Come on!

Yes we want to move onto next week, but we need to defend our players on these issues.

Yeah...well done MFC

Clarry hung out to dry ....again.

Still, makes a change from being thrown under the bus.

Some of you would do well in politics....all about the spin isnt it.

All running with hares and hunting with hounds !!

Only MELBOURNE continually rolls over. Very poor image.

I am sure the original MFC committee members did just that in Jolimont Park, before the MCC fenced it in.

It was Hunt, but I am sure Oliver will be asked to apologise anyway.

They would not have put him in front of the media to answer questions if he wasn't comfortable with it.

Likely it was his idea.

Just saw the clip on talking footy when he did a little media conference. Maybe give him some media training. On talking footy they said his story changed a few times and there was a threat then there was no threat and when they asked him today if there was a threat he looked over obviously at the media manager as if to say help me. The delay didnt look great.

Anyway Clayton dont worry you are playing great footy. Just focus on adelaide next week.

Spot on. He should never have been put out there, whether he wanted to or not.

Yes spot on and it will happen again, very poor from both clubs and the AFL. Just wait and see when some moron has a few too many and a player gets hurt. I always thought if you touch a player when he is on the field it's a fine; but what do i know?

You are very easily disappointed.  Regardless of what was said, Clarry doesn't need to bite back.  The AFL may well have asked the club to apologise, which they did, and now we move on.  Why we need to be upset about it is beyond me.

Come on Wiseblood, this is garbage. A number of times this year, the club has absolutely squibbed it in standing up for its players. This is by far the worst example, unless we're going to pay the moron compensation and take it out of Clarrie's match payments. For the second time in a few weeks, they've completely hung Clarrie out to dry without a peep. It's out and out pathetic.

Player pushed towards the fence gets shoved by a spectator. And that's OK? Every other club in the AFL - in fact, every sporting club in Australia - wouldn't tolerate their player being manhandled by a spectator in the course of the game.

It may have been his idea Nasher but it did not play out well. I just think the club needed to shield him more. That bloke was a fame hungry moron....who wins.

Wholeheartedly agree. There's what can be said behind closed doors but i feel the public perception of a club sticking fat is important.

The silence is deafening.

Shoved?  Laughable.  Surely you don't believe he was shoved...?  I've seen the vision numerous times and at no stage have I thought he was shoved.

And how do we know it hasn't been tolerated?  How do we know that the wheels aren't turning behind closed doors and there will be further outcomes from this?  Right now, we don't.  The best thing for the club to do is to get on the front foot and get passed it as quickly as we can.

The club can kick, scream, yell and do whatever... but it means little and won't change a thing.  And our players are never hung out to dry - just watch the Goodwin presser from the weekend to see the standards and culture he wants to drive and you'll have zero doubt that we're in good hands.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
