Not good, but if his foot was half stuffed all year better it going now than on the eve of finals. This must have been a calculated gamble for him to carry it instead of having surgery earlier.

Viney will miss 3 weeks max. He heals at least twice as fast as any other human.

He will be back for the Carlton game. In fact I heard that he has asked the AFL to bring the game forward to tomorrow.

I thought it was only kryptonite that could get him

So who's the person who put Kryptonite in Jacks footy boot?

He'll be cherry ripe for the finals.

All good.

I suspected as much cheezus really down on mid strength. If and it now is a big IF we make finals we should have a competitive squad at this time. I'm not that confident at this stage 4-5 Wins may be beyond us, given injuries to key playersl!

We're still better than Carlton.

He'll get onto Daniel Cross's special remedy he used for on I think it was a broken arm. I think it was a 4 week injury and he came back in 2!

Yep.  A team of clydesdales won't keep Jack off the park once he gets past the point of risking further damage ........ and given that he's been battling the injury all year, there's every chance that he'll come back better than ever.  Just imagine how good that would be in a final!

PS.  Jonno Brown (OTC) seemed very confident that Jack won't miss more than 4 weeks.

So if this is an injury that he's carried for most of the year, and 4 games in 18 days and a 6 day break back from Perth had the potential to make the injury worse, and he also had a sore shoulder from the week before, why wasn't he rested for the Sydney match?

Was this injury worsened as a result of Viney being tripped up, and i thought Max was tripped as well about the same time? Anyone see anything?

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
