Mills was clipped by a luck/unlucky punch . You might read the comments by boxer Green. Puts some perspective on it.

No doubt it wasnt the smartest thing to do but i very much doubt any premeditation was involved.. was a reaction to Mills.

There  is no comparison between Bugg and Houli. Bugg's was a premeditated act of unprovoked violence. Houli was at least in the vicinity of the play and done in response to another player restraining him from getting into the play. There is no comparison. 

I at least do not want thugs playing for the football club I have supported for 50 years. Hard at the ball yes, and uncompromising most definitely, but this is something else. 

I am very much encouraged by the leadership Nathan Jones has displayed on this. Haven't regrettably yet seen anything similar from the coaching staff.

BB, sticks and stones will break etc etc.. Bugg should have more sense, and if he doesn't then let's let him go. His football sin was that this single act took a lot of the fire out of our game when it should have been just building. It was an unwanted and unnecessary distraction, as well as being a dastedly act. It also unnecessarily fired up the opposition even more than they were already.

Yep. Actions like his cost you games. If we ever get to one I don't want Richard craniums like bugg ruining our chances in a Final.

I have a real problem with this, because on one hand it makes sense, if Brayshaw was concussed by a punch and was forced to retire then he'd have every right.  But can we really expect assault cases from a sporting field?

So you agree ..he reacted ? Therefore a provocation. Whilst not life threatening in the context of a game of footy it wasn't like he just decided to line up someone and give him a whack......

Defence not going for any defences.  I agree there's a reaction to provocation that could've been put.  Bugg QC seems to think the honest guy approach will net the best result.    I'm guessing 7 down to 6.

In no way am I saying it is the same as a punch to the head or even a punch to the body, but when you say unprovoked violence, - it happens all the time on the field. 

Dees2014, not many stuck up for Bugg on the following occasions, do you class these incidents as unprovoked violence?

Can you remember Easton Wood attacking Bugg before the game even started a couple of weeks ago? No action taken, no question to answer.

Later he was attacked again which resulted in a free kick in front of goals and he came up with scratches and bleeding from the head.

 It seems we do accept unprovoked violence on the football field. In fact there was a distinct sense that many people saw it as entertaining and deserved because Bugg had put up a message on Facebook.

The Farhour incident, seems to have heightened the focus on Bugg as well.

Pretty sure we cant know that was  premeditated. Who knows...only Bugg can say. It was a low act but no one can know what was premeditated or not. To say he cant play for Melb again is extreme. I may not like the guy for this hit but he didnt jump the fence and beat up old some lady in row 12. He is remorseful and from other hits like Hall maybe cop 8 weeks. ( A serious punishment)

Thought there'd be some reduction for his remorse, guilty plea and apology. Maybe there is, but if so, that's a fair whack under the circumstances.
