The key to Sunday's VFL game will be the number of MFC listed players the Casey Demons can put on the park. The club's injury list is slowly becoming more manageable although several of its players are still a way off. With both the AFL and VFL senior Demons playing in roughly the same time frame, some carry over players will need to be held back for the MCG game but hopefully, there will be more depth in the Casey team this week.

future rookie in 2018 or 2019... 3rd defender. Super competitive.

That would really pi%#/ss off the essendon bummer boys

Heard Mahoney speak a couple of weeks ago and the number 1 thing they look for in a draftee is "competitive", are they competitive? How do they react when 5 goals down kicking into the breeze rather than 5 goals up and with it.

Long shot but wouldn't it be great if he did ever don the mighty red and blue!

PS James Hirds academy... pppffftttt.

Once you take away the four players who will go out to make up the MFC interchange bench and at least one other held over as emergency for that game, the depth isn't as evident.

The fact that Liam Hulett has been picked on both the interchange bench for the Casey Seniors as well as in the line up for the Development League team suggests that the club might be sending him a little message that he needs to improve his act if he wants to remain on the list.

I think he will keep his place this week but if his form doesn't lift it could well make it hard for him to retain his spot if there's an improvement in our injury stocks.

He is coming back from an injury.  Maybe they're just being cautious?

Would think he likes playing with us, and not them, for a good reason

Would be interesting to know what real attempts are made to co-ordinate the AFL/VFL schedules.

Not sure what the clubs prefer and putting aside interstate games and short breaks it would be good from a supporter viewpoint if there was no clash between the competitions at club level.

Harder I know but it would be good for the schedules to be synched occasionally from an opponent aspect. Would be great to head out today for example to Box Hill Oval to see the Demons play the Hawks.

Not whinging but the VFL has to work harder at its competition.

What about a free youtube channel with all the non televised games. Sure there is a cost but you are not talking sheep stations especially if you used two or three automated camera positions for each match.

Concussion victim Angus Brayshaw will also return for Casey’s clash against Werribee after missing a week from another head knock.

Yes I think Trengove may get a run in the next few weeks. He deserves the chance to show he has the ability at AFL level again.

Who will he replace?

He would need Tyson to have a horror game or get injured to get his chance youd think.

Massive game for King taking on Preuss. Daw as relief doesn't make it any easier. Keilty might shadow daw on the chop out, but preuss looks impressive when played in the ones earlier this year. Good luck Mitch. Hope your up to the task.

Any news as to whether Brayshaw is playing would be appreciated together with a good analysis of our ruck strength.

Will be very interesting to see how the "no specialist ruckman" goes against a recognised ruckman at the MCG today.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
