GAMEDAY - Round 6

Featured Replies

Big second half coming up for a few players.  ANB has had 2 touches, JKH has had zero influence.  Hannan has gotten his hands on it but turned it over a little.  There are plenty of others who could lift their games, but for someone like JKH, this could be his last chance.  Kennedy and Kent, even with his average form, are waiting in the wings and he may not get another look in.

ANB stunk it up last week and didn't think it was possible but has been even worse this week

We won't finish bottom four. But if we don't win the next two, we can kiss any remote chance of finals football goodbye.

Bottom 4 are playing much better football than this [censored].

Kent at least presents and runs.

JKH and Hannan are plodders, nothing more.

Dumb Dumb Dumb game style...All Melb do is bomb long..never lower their eyes. We have gone backwards this year.

Out: Goodwin and all the other ex Essendon hacks

In: Roos and Grimes

Grimes! hahaha yeah he'd improve our kicking efficiency.

Roos I'll take.

A real exhibition of fast paced, exhilarating football. The skills of both teams sublime. Essendon just looking slightly sharper. Joe Daniher is a star.

Really looking forward to backing it up in the second half. Just a great game of football.

Honorable mention to the umpires. The best umpired games are the ones where you don't notice them.

Demonland needs to start drug testing posters...

Essendon played in the wet on Tuesday.

Any other team in the comp would come out and blow them away in the 2nd half - if we dont win this we deserve to finish in the bottom 4.

We had about 18 hours more rest than them, having played a higher-intensity game in the wet down 2 rotations (and down a further 2 or 3 sore bodies which didn't help).

There is no reason to demand a blow-out from here.

Essendon should be cheering him. He's their extra man.

We're capable of so much more and we'll lift, hopefully today.

I'm over 50 mate and this match is  disgraceful. The only good thing is Essendon are as bad as we are.

Time for some big players to have a shot at Casey in lieu of the usual fringe players.

The ball use has been shocking from both sides, first team to clean that up will win this game

I don't usually hate on Melbourne players, but Melksham just gives me so many reasons.

JKH and ANB........SFA

Big second half for myself.

i don't know where I'm going to find all of this extra Shyte to lose.

Kent has strength and leant get pushed off the ball... JKH loses in the contest and isn't skillful enough to compensate for this

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
