According to 7 it is.

Should be back training by pre-season comp.

How can you partially dislocate a kneecap?

Still concerned it's not strapped, and Tyson walked laps

Reporting at it's finest

Looks like Dom gave us a slight porky  Deeoldfart

Unless a scan revealed more

Because the club told the journos the truth and not you?

There is a reason why the club do tell porkies to any normal supporter Sat..

Weren't you the one reporting that it was fine and you heard it from the horses mouth?

In saying that this opens the perfect opportunity for Jack Trengove to grab an opportunity while its there. He is currently doing a full pre season and id love to start him in the midfield and see if he's still got it.

Dom Tyson dislocated his patella at the camp. He'll need everything to go right to be ready for round 1.

Well done on nailing your info once again TK.

Building up a good strike rate.

Well, apart from me, Deeoldfart was standing next to me, and we both heard him say quad and point to it, I assume that if they sent him for a scan it may have revealed something else, he said he was going for a scan to Wayne. He also told me not to worry as it would be 4 to 6 weeks. And I reported exactly what he said to me and Deeoldfart

For a (partially)  dislocated kneecap, he has no strapping on it, and is walking quite freely, has no qualms about putting weight on it to kick with his left which he has done a couple of times in both sessions I have watched, so I assume it is not as serious as the reporter made out.

Doubt anyone is lying.

You can disrupt a quad muscle / quad muscle tendon after a knee dislocation. Particularly if he's had soreness before.

So whilst he injured his knee he is now recovering from a quad injury.

I'm actually expecting a long rehab on this one unfortunately.

Shame about dome knee! Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery, fortunately this may mean someone like petracca gets some midfield minutes. One solider down another comes up.

If they treat it like Wagner's, he had a week of walking, then a gradual build up of running, took him 5 weeks to get back into main group which he did today

Its just unlike Melbourne to not have one of your up and coming guns get hurt in pre season..

Hogan in 2014 Petracca in 2015, Brayshaw last year and now Dommy..

2-12 weeks is a fairly open statement.

something not adding up here. i'll wait for misson to have his say.

Think it is along the lines of what DeeSpencer said, had a partial dislocation of the knee at the camp before Xmas, no issue with it now so no strapping, but has a quad issue which is what he told me, reporters have been reading it on here as the club has made no mention of  the camp on any media

My conversation with Dom was last Thursday. I was there early and he was walking laps before the main group left AAMI. It was short and sweet. I'm pretty sure he said it was right knee and he was waiting on scan results. He intimated that he would have to wait and see. He was hoping that his level of fitness would let him play games soon after getting the ok to resume. I believed every word... still do!

This comment reminds me of a mate who when I said "Sad to see Grimesy go" said "he was no f'ing good".

I called him a jerk, not because he was wrong but because he said it.

So far he has played exactly the same way he did at the Pies.

He is too short. If you are short then to be a regular at AFL senior level you have to be better than just an average player.

He is not particular fast or skilful.

Tyson will be coming from a long way back as a result of this, which is a big blow as his second half of 2016 was as good as any mid we had I thought.

Saying that, as others have said, it opens an opportunity for other mids to step up - be it Brayshaw, Oliver, Salem, Trengove, or a surprise kid coming through.

Tyson is a goal kicker, and we will miss the way he's able to impact the scoreboard if he's not up to full fitness by the start of the season.

For Dom to be available for round 1 you'd think he'll need a couple of hit outs. Our last practice match is March 9 & Casey have a practice match the week after. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
