I don't know nor care to know what the situation was for them so I shall generalise the discussion here.

I understand 'morally wrong' refers to the 'don't mess with the missus' code.  And for some it is particularly strong and extend it to ex wives/ex partners.  But when two people are separated, living apart from their ex spouses/partners and are consenting adults, how they lead their lives is a private matter.

As a woman, I wouldn't want my separated from for several years ex husband, having some intrinsic right to know who I was dating.  I may or may not choose to disclose it but as to an intrinsic right for him to know or to get an explanation, well in my book, it does not override my right to privacy.  Understandably, he can be sad, angry, disappointed or upset but to think I was morally wrong to date a mutual best friend would not sit well with me.

I'm not wanting to stir up a hornet's nest, and relationships are delicate situations but just wanted to put a female's perspective on the privacy of consenting adults.

In the distant past I had my business partner & friends wife (separated) invite me to a wedding. I spoke to him to see how he felt about it, he said he didn't give a sh t. A short dalliance followed. The business relationship & friendship was permanently damaged.

There is probably no right way. The ex has no right of ownership, but that does not seem to stop the sense of betrayal felt. Separated people can see who they want but feelings can be hurt. Billy B had no right to dictate who his wife went out with but his feelings still got hurt. A no win situation for all involved.

I think having Francis on in the arvo spot is a really good move...

I don't think he was right for breakfast where the tradition seems to be some kind of bright and airhead radio to wake everyone up on the right side of the bed.

Leach will add a bit of brainpower to the organisation in the afternoon spot.

That's a plus for me as my listening is usually during the morning/early afternoon. I can skip Marko again and catch Finey later in the night.

I think like you I seldom hear breakfast and the thought of hearing Tim the drugs apologist has extinguished any desire to tune in  next year.

I also  see Daniel Harford has moved to 3AW. I used to enjoy Daniel in the afternoons.

The guy sings his spoken word.  He wanted Hawthorn to name the flank after him at Glenferrie Oval.

Marko needs to clear his sinuses.

Andy Maher is the only bloke I know who can talk under water with the sides of his lips sewn together.

A simple rule in life is to never take anything personally. Saves a lot of wasted heartache.. In the end it's Billy's [censored] and he should deal

The biggest di airhead would have to Red Symons on 774.

He takes it to a new level. If I hear that clown's voice I (as the kids say) lose my [censored] totally.

Once again we're on the same page BBO. There's an ego that makes Jeff Kennett look like he's unsure of himself.

Andy Maher has the same enthusiasm for sport, vocabulary and emotional issues as a 12 year old.

I cannot listen to the fellow. He used to have ( may still do) a Sunday morning interview show. Had some really interesting guests but in his zeal to make a "joke" or display his "wit" he invariably stifled the opportunity to explore what his guest had to say.

I've heard a coupe of his interviews. You're spot on. He doesn't actually listen to the response of the interviewee but looks to get his own content/ story out there. Be great to sit next t at a dinner party.

Love that story of him getting pizzed at a pub while the Blues played in a final and were up by a fair margin in the 3rd. Can't remember which year it was. Apparently he was obnoxious and standing on a pub table singing the song at the top of his lungs, like it was a foregone conclusion. Then only to watch them squander the lead as the second half progressed and get knocked out. Would've loved to see him cry into his beer at the final siren.

'Hemingway', most of us have made poor decisions in life. Just not in the public limelight.

Some decisions hurt others, some are irresponsible and often selfish. In Gary's case the story we got was that he had an affair with Billy's ex wife...

I would think Gary's wife and family would have felt hard done by and betrayed if they were still together (I don't know these circumstances). Whether or not they were Billy took the moral high ground, seeming to claim some kind of ownership of his ex wife which is more of the boys club attitude to my mind.

As some on here will know, I'm not a Gary fan at all but I don't think what he did was a hanging offence.

Just another situation that shows footballers for all their ability on the field are just normal people off it.

Agree entirely: since when does a B. Bless own his ex wife?????

Jeffrey is. That's why he's such a Blowhard out there Mr insecurity. Though to be fair, wouldn't you feel insecure if you were dealt the "Thou art Jeffrey Kennett card?"

Nah, thought it was more recent than that dieter. Just looked it up, was 2009 vs Brisbane. Calton led by 30 early in the 4th. Bris kicked last 6 goals to win.

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol
