There are so many Scorps players having ordinary days. We have been well served by a few blokes having an extraordinary day. It augers very well for next week when so many more can hopefully lift.

Not putting the wood on our last qtr here I hope.

Ed Morris goals. Past 50 points now.

McInerny is 203cm. Rookie?

Has looked good today. I'm sure there'd be a couple of scouts taking notes.

One of my mates coaches out at Eastern Rangers and watched Petracca come through the junior ranks. Said he'll be one of the best players in the comp in time, but I reckon Oliver is going to be the better player. Petracca has x factor, but Oliver just keeps getting clearances and tackles. The player I'm most excited about.

But how exciting are these guys going to be after 50 games?

Spencer is truly awful.

yep, haven't seen him so completely beaten in the ruck, and by a guy a foot shorter. completely out positioned and outthought. the couple of taps he has got have gone nowhere. we badly need a backup for maximus and jake aint it.

Trengrove played better that quarter but still not well enough to say he has recovered to near AFL standard let alone to that of a automatic selection.

Three weeks ago he hadn't had a full pre season and he still hasn't. Give him a break and just enjoy the win.

What scale is it? I couldn't imagine tight ass Ch7 sending out anything that isn't compressed to buggery...

Must agree on today's performance. Also his round the ground play has been almost non -existent.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
