Hawkins is everything Hogan could become.

Hawkins did take a few years before things really clicked.

I bet Lewis' sly punch behind the play in Q1 will once again be overlooked.

OMG those Whorethorn players whinge when frees don't go their way.  Had it too good for too long.

Fitzy missed a couple of chances.

Would have loved him to kick them but want his stinking team to get pumped!

God Hawthorn are annoying to watch. They play such uncontested footy. When it's tough in packs they can't handle it. It's a pity teams can't keep the intensity up for a whole game against them like we did or they'd come unstuck. Hate watching their players whinge for frees even though they get a dream run with the umps.

Hope Geelong can reset at half time and tighten up their defense to stop those over the top [censored] goals. Cmon Geelong!

Well we know geelongs tactics. Just annoy the crap out of Mitchell. It feels like Hawthorn are much further ahead than what the scoreboard says. They got on top of the cats there. Dangers fumbled the ball a few times and done some poor kicks. Could have done that 2 weeks ago.

Anyway a great 2nd half coming up.

Luke Hodge and Joel Selwood seem to spend more time talking to the umpires than any other captains in the league....

You can't expect to receive preferential treatment if you don't network. It's social relations 101.

I'm sick to the death of seeing both these teams in the finals. Part of me doesn't care who wins as along as they hurt each other. But even for Hawthorn, I have never seen so much whinging for free kicks, gesturing at the umpire, squealing and moaning. Hodge, Lewis and Mitchell - just shut up and play footy.

Having said that, it is not the most enjoyable game to watch.  A lot of pressure and fumbling but not much clean footy.

Hopefully sniper Mitchell gets cleaned up in the second half. Such a whinging piece of [censored] that bloke. And he never, NEVER stands up in the big finals games. He's got the worst finals record I can remember from any "superstar" footballer in my lifetime.

It's like that, I desperately want Hawthorn to get done over, I'm loving Chip spudding it up but I'm barracking for Fitzy.

Cats playing poor footy and now only 11 points down. Actually, about to hit enter and it is now 5 points.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
