.......I did have a laugh when he said that Prestia chose Richmond because of their list.  What list?  They have about 4 good players and the rest are bog ordinary.

Make that 3 good players as one of them is foofing off to GWS today.

When he was saying the good list thing I was waiting for Dion to throw his hands in the air and say "I can't do this" like Mal Maninga did when he had his 30 second (literally) political career

Maybe, but they all knew Hibberd was coming and Lewis is just one guy and could play in a number of positions. ANB is the obvious one but I'm not sure teams would be all that interested in him and it's a big step to decide to up and move in one week.

ANB would do worse than asking to move in with Jordan Lewis in 2017.  While he doesn't necessarily have the "c factor" that Lewis does, he could learn a bloody lot about playing both inside and outside.

Jordan Lewis has a young family.  He will not be living with any player.

I have no idea why we didn't go out and try and persue Vardy or Nankervis for one of our late picks

Do you know that we didn't?  Our team play their cards a lot closer to their chests these days.

Gold Coast have a lot of first round picks, is there any way we can package something up to trade for one of them? They're going to have 5-6 first rounders and our first pick comes in the late 50s! We've done well this trade period but it would be great to get further back up the draft order.

was reported in hun today that when dion had talks with the ferals he sought assurances that dimma would not be sacked. really do question his judgement

can just imagine the board at end of 2017 discussing dimma's sacking and saying "but we can't because we gave dion assurances that we won't" - lmao

How are you feeling big fella?  You've stuck with Prestia all year, then he burned you in trade week.

Yep, struggle town. Am feeling pretty dirty for my Prestia love.

I can understand Hawthorn selling the farm for O'Meara (just) but can someone tell me why Geelong is giving up so much for Tuohy?  Is he that good?

He's about as good as Hibberd, so we got a bargain.

It's not really as much as it seems:

Tuohy + future Carlton's 2nd (25 this year) for Smedts + future Geelong 1st (16 this year)

Thought we'd trade down our picks in the last few hours but nothing so far. Would think we can trade down a few spots with GWS or Gold Coast.

Might be trying to get a pick upgrade for Dunn, then trade down after that.

Hypothetical - if the O'Meara trade doesn't get done and Hawthorn plan to take him at 10 in the ND.

If we still held our 1st at 8 would we take him with it?  We'd have the period up to the draft to convince him to join us.

He won't last to 8 in the PSD, he won't even survive past Essendon.

He'll nominate the ND to get to Hawthorn at 10 (but even then, would be funny if Gold Coast or GWS took him beforehand with their multitude of picks before Hawthorn).

I didn't say PSD, I said ND.

Well you mentioned our first pick being at 8, so I thought you meant to PSD.

As far as hypothesizing the alternate universe where we still have our first rounder in the ND? I'd say no, too expensive.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
