Heard today that another J.Watts will be joining the MFC this trade period..  a kid from up north.

No idea if hes any good or anything about him, just that he is a young KPD and we are into him.

Worst case scenario and Hogan were to leave, if one of the picks we got back were pick 12 from West Coast, I'd be willing to on-trade that for Hanley.

Fox sports are reporting Pearce Hanley is on the table. Turns 28 next year, I actually rate him pretty highly. He would cost more than we can afford but his run and carry would be handy

Would love him at the club.

Copied this summary from the dees supporters page:

Trade Radio -

* Hibberd said he has already been having beers with the likes of Jones & Vince in recent weeks. He says his relationship with Goodwin & the need for a fresh start is why he chose Melbourne. Deal will be done in good faith unless something drastically goes wrong.

* Hogan's managers boss (correct me if wrong) said all the trade talk is just noise. When asked if Hogan will play at MFC in 2017, after a fair bit of tap dancing he said "yes". He also said he thinks that even the "deal of the century" wouldn't get Melbourne to trade. He wasn't overly convincing in his declaration however!

I think that may have something to do with their reluctance to confirm details about a player who they are not actually managing. All 3 player managers were reluctant to comment on players from their Management company, who they were not the actual managers of. Made sense to me, and was rather heartening news re Jesse.

Please be true

Agree. He'd be close to my most disliked player in the league but the only important thing with prospective recruits is will they make us a better football side. The answer in Harvey's case is unequivocally yes.

Just looked at that twitter account.

Fairly suss...

I was going to say the same thing.  None of the 'official' sources are running with the story at all.  I'd say it's rubbish.

This makes me incredibly conflicted and uncomfortable.

Looks suss to me, as it is meant to sound official, but they wouldn't announce it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Watson is working as a lawyer in New York.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
