Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Kane Mitchell for 2nd rounder + player? Have you seen him play? I suppose he could replace Riley and McKenzie as a permanent Casey player.

I was saying more like Hartlett for pick 6, 2nd rounder and player (Someone average like Terlich), and Mitchell just as steak knives.

Good smother on Milkshake in that highlights package...it's a sign! :).

What a great look away...sucked him into the kick then pulled off the smother.

Cornes always rated Hartlett as a future Brownlow winner...injuries have held him back a bit but he would be a good get.

Well Hartlett would cost us pick 6, so the rest of the deal stands alone.

Honestly think he'd cost more than pick 6 in a weak draft.

Get it done, if the rumours are true. I wouldn't be totally disappointed to give up pick 6 for Hartlett, but I'd hope we could push them for Hartlett and ND10 for ND6 and something else.

It was brilliant, watch lull him into a false sense of security then at the last second bam, smother.

There's not a person in footy that doesn't think Hartlett's not an elite talent, but in reality he's been a tad disappointing due to injury and inconsistency.

The club would love him for pick 6, but I'd be amazed if Port let him go.

I'm surprised so many of you needed a highlights package to realise his talent.

Oh my, well that was fun to watch.

The goal at 2.08 where he is on the angle, inside the square and his teammates are pointing to the goals made me laugh. What was that, a 70m kick?

They've probably seen him do it effortlessly at training that many times...

I said Vince's career at Adelaide was inferior to Hartlett's career to date. Vince's highly impressive 2 years with us would elevate him on a par with Hartlett.

And can someone explain why they seem to think that we can land Prestia?

But the parts you highlighted were from Vince's career at Adelaisde. He won their B&F and was AA while playing at Adelaide. Hamish is good, but he's never done either of those things at Port. The only thing he has over Vince is he's a little younger.

Yes, but salary caps are finite, he'd be on very decent coin, and they have clearly indicated a strong interest in Dixon who won't come cheap.

If he has been identified as a key culprit who is not performing to expectations, and eating up a large portion of the cap in the meantime, I imagine they'd be keen to capitalise while his value remains high.

Just as a thought.. Readings elsewhere suggest our pick 6 might not be absolutely necessary. Its possible a slightly later pick..10/11 might also do this trade , if indeed theres one to be had.

If thats the case Id be looking to find a swap/trade that went something like.. Howe or Watts...plus pick 6.... for some very decent mid and a pick around 10. This pick goes to Port for Hartlett

am i just dreaming...or some merit ?

I think it has merit mate.

Out of interest, what other readings are you referring to? Is this a rumour that's been repeated by actual AFL 'insiders'? I've been trawling the internet looking for some corroboration and have so far got nada.

Big fan of this deal if it can get done. I rate Hartlett!

why on earth would Port get rid of a key midfielder for any of the suggested trades?

They will be pushing very hard for top four next year. Having Watts and/or Howe or a pick isnt going to take them to that top echelon of teams next year.

With that in mind surely Hamish himself wouldn't leave a club like that to come to Melbourne. i'm not trying to be negative. But he is 25 yrs old. If he is not injured next season he will be in his prime playing for a Premiership.

Baffles me. I'm not trying to say I wouldn't love him at Melbourne. But not sure about the why...

Salary cap issues and wanting Dixon are the answers to your first question. But who the hell knows, anything is possible.

Salary cap pressures - the only mildly logical reason.

just the composite really of reading between lines and snippets of goss...nothing more..tbh

Hartlett would be inside their top 10 easily i reckon.. BUT they have to make room.

I made the suggestion somewhere ( cant remember..lol ) that I doubt he would cross the road to the Crows...its just not the Adelaide things...very parochial both those lots. So hed have to come interstate.

Then comes down to who would be in position to trade for him...and afford him.

We're a little more along a rebuild than some other dwellers so we wont be desperate to hang onto that high pick. It is serious currency. So is pick 10/11/12 etc but them who knows really after that ..its a draft...bit of a raflfe best of times..We WANT/NEED ready to go mids of a good ability

Ive seen some ramblings emanating from SA that seem to suggest 6 is overs...again, in context that a mid 1st round pick might suffice.

I'm just brainstorming really

youve misread.. Not Howe/watts to them...to some other team but we utilise our 6 to add potency to get a good mid off "other " team...then turn around and use mid 1srt rounder received via the H/W's trade to Port for Hartlett

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
