So after the flurry of excitement at the end of the season with Jack playing finals for Hawthorn, he gets delisted.

Will another club pick him up?

Not AFL....you wouldn't think so

Questionable pick, made by a questionable recruiting team, employed by a questionable administration at the time.

Good luck to him in his future endeavours. But he never had the 'footballing' ability to make it. Only the 'physical' ability.

My physio is a trainer at Box Hill. I saw him recently, about a month ago, I said, Poor Fitzy is a spud.

He said, Fitzy is a spud.

The trainer is no doubt a spud himself, if not half a potato chip.

PS You can pick the demon-lite supporters on here by the way they constantly sneer at ex-players.

Fitzy is at least the 2nd 2016 finals player to be delisted.

Might be rookied by Hawks or someone else.

Sillier things have happened particularly in the current climate where most teams are trying to bolster their ruck/KPF stocks. As insurance Fitzy is not out of the question (and it paid dividends for the Hawks last year having a contingency plan)!

Demon-lite my fat foot.It is possible to express an opinion. I watched him dither and dally at Melbourne, I watched him get lost and confused at Box Hill. A spud, ladies and gentlemen, is a spud.

I am told he is a really nice guy that was good enough to get on 2 AFL lists. Like the majority of players drafted on to AFL lists he was not quite good enough but close. I am sure not helped by his diabetic condition.  I am sympathize with him.

I sympathize with him as well. In the same way that I sympathize with Dawes, McKenzie, Mat Jones, Garland, Tapscott, Strauss, Couch, Magnar, Blease, Michie, Bate, Bennell and all the others who weren't quite good enough. But, there comes a time when Melbourne needs players to be more than second rate stop gaps. Or, list fillers, or, just simply spuds...

Plenty. Especially the ones that whinge about how bad we're going and then get sentimental when we're finally able to say goodbye to the spuds that kept making the same mistakes, time and time again.

No, he's Russian, probably a Sputnik.

Two things I hate being brought up when a player is being discussed :

1 - He's a great bloke. (This has zero relevance to his abilty as footballer yet is used as some kind of defence)

2 - The poster that has posted what is perceived to be a negative comment than being asked if he has played at the highest level. (No they probably haven't but they may be a specialist in their chosen field, they are still entitled to their opinion)

I agree with you. In the end this is a Demon Supporter forum. I've been a supporter since 1959 - 10 years in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, Jungle land - and have watched them play like spuds from 1966 to 1975, 1977 till 1986, from 2006 till 2014. Many 'great blokes' have been shredded though the spud machine in that time. I last played in a final at Under 16 level where I rucked against Laurie Sandilands and kicked two goals. After that footy just became too rough for me. I am, after all, a gentle soul.

Phew Thank Christmas you didn't mention One "Juice Newton" in this group! Clearly, Juice was a player who had very bad luck, cruelly cut down by injury in his almost prime!! A tragedy!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
