6. Hunt- He tried all game, and keeps getting better. Being the house that the wolves can easily blow down didn't deter him

5. Petracca- One of few who read the ball forward of centre. So chunky but knows how to move with it.

4. Vince- Was the usual kicking machine. Not sure if he actually played well or the no.23 made him look like it

3. Gawn- Was always gonna always dominate the ruck, wasn't an amazing game but made few errors. Disappointingly little umpire banter.

2. Jones- I dunno why he's in the votes. Habit maybe? His brother won this family battle however.

1.Watts- Was shown in frame a lot. If this were a movie he'd be a main actor. That said the stream was kind of blurry so at least I think I saw him near the ball a lot. He won't be getting an Oscar though, that goes to repeat offenders on the ducking front and the only Oscar on our team isn't held in as high stead. But without a doubt it is Jack's best season to date, although we were left wanting a couple through the sticks from the man a Collingwood fan coined "Mrs Watts" from standing room last Monday.

I certainly only saw bits of the game but I find it interesting to observe that in a game against a very mature battle hardened side in awfully challenging  conditions Hunt and Wagner appear frequently in the posters' assessment of better players on this site.

Would anyone in their wildest dreams have thought that this could happen prior to the season?

Good recruiting, great development.  Hats off to those departments.  Now on to a reformation of the selection panel.

I didn't watch the game so only going off the demonland votes but Hunt seems have polled exceptionally well. In such a wet slog I would have expected bigger bodied players with more experience and much longer time in the system (gym) to do well.

6 Vince (hard and prolific as usual but almost all of the side didn't create much, but didn't stop trying).

5 Gawn (Clearly one of our few winners on the day, although understandably didn't mark well)

4 Hunt (Loved his chase down on Heeney on the boundary. Made a few errors, but didn't they all. But broke lines when he got it.)

3 T-Mac (Why is it that so many here, judge him so poorly each week. He played mainly on Franklin, who got on the end of a few as you'd expect when he's plonked in the goal square for much of it).

2 Watts (Classy second half and showed that it was possible to kick the ball 45m accurately like the Sydney players often did).

1 Jones (Toss up here with Petracca, but he did lift after half time with Vanders).

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
