Neville Jetta's Nickname

Featured Replies

Hey all Demonland Faithful

I am in need of your assistance.

Neville Jetta will be the guest speaker at my sons football club (St Mary's GJFC) this Sunday where he will be awarding a player from each of our 25 teams our 'Indigenous Round Award'.

I am putting together a slideshow to run on our TV's and LED scoreboard for the occasion and would like to include Neville's nickname.

Now as embarrassing at this is for me as a die-hard DEMON supporter to admit, I am not entirely certain I actually know Nev's nickname. However, I have a strong feeling it's 'Jetts'.....but this is where I need your expert knowledge to tell me YES or NO it's ?????

Thanks and

GO DEES

Saty would be the best person to answer this I suspect.

I always find myself saying "fark he's tough" after every contest, so maybe that's his nickname.

On the MFC Instagram feed, they called him Jetts in photos taken today.

Pretty sure the Captain (and Ethan!) have the best handle on this.....

"Jones said Indigenous Round (now named in honour of Sir Doug Nicholls) was a time to celebrate the great Aboriginal players who have played the game.

Nev [Jetta] gave a great presentation to the players the other day and it highlighted the great contribution made by Indigenous players,” he said.

Roosy wouldn't lie to me.

It's actually BJ.

Short for the Better Jetta.

In 2016 if your name is Neville any nickname is redundant.

You are Neville!

Exactly, with a name like Neville, who needs a nickname.

I always thought it was Nev.

Or Neville if he has done something wrong...

It is manditory for every human named Neville to be nick-named Nifty. I looked it up on the Births, Deaths and Marriages website.

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
