Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Just now, Sir Why You Little said:

I couldn't give a stuff about Ross Oakley's opinions on us.

If we lose to the Lions like we already have to Essendon the team as a whole is still mentally weak and therefore wastes another year. It is that simple

I know you wouldn't because it basically is reflective of how you deal with us losing. It most likely hits too close to home.

I would say that if we lose to the Lions and are consequently of the opinion that we may as well pack it in and sulk off with our tail between our legs then that it basically proves his point.

Did it ever occur to you that the Essendon loss occurred largely because we didn't pay our opposition any respect? This cobblers about 'less than 10 goals' was the same kind of talk that went around before we lost that one. Hell, Tommy McDonald was talking about notching two wins in a row for the first time in his career.

I will be royally cheesed off if we lose (by the way, I think we are more likely to win if we turn up switched on). I will in no way however give up on the year. Like last year when I said if we win 7 then I think we have achieved our potential for the year, I will wait till the end of round 23 to give my verdict.

Any complacency today should be removed by the intro of the in form ANB and Newton who know they must perform to remain. We should beat them at the contest well it's then a matter of how well we execute away from it. Anything other than a win is not acceptable but I don't understand how people equate mid to large margins to acceptability prior to the game being played.

Have a bad feeling about this one. We're going in with 12 players who have played less than 40 games, we have no genuine second forward/backup ruck, no Jetta and now no Tyson. Tough conditions (wind) will make hitting targets harder and even out the game.

Just don't get complacent Melbourne, please.

Yep, Newts and ANB will surely have to play out of their skins to try and lock in a place in the 1st 22. I'm looking forward to seeing them back in.

You are entitled to do what you like Col

But IF the MFC goes out there today with the wrong attitude and loses to the Bears like we already did to Essendon in Roosy's 3rd year..."What the Fcuk has this club learnt in those 3 years.."

The Bears are Horrible. It is just not acceptable to give them 4 points at The G

I agree, very worried now. I hope there isn't a nasty bug hanging around the club, well not a two legged one anyway.

It is a concern - if there is a bug going around, 2 blokes too ill to play, but there may be a few others on the edge.

ANB and Newton will surprise you today, going on their Casey form. With Tyson out, they will be given a chance to go in and under. And that is a very good thing - much better than playing them in less familiar positions on the ground.

Bugger, I've only become nervous after reading this thread.  Still reckon we will win comfortably, however.  Go Melbourne!!

Two big games from Bernie and Jonesy today will get the job done. Hogan to hover on and off the ball to keep them looking around.and the ex pie 5footer to kick 5.

Was always all for the woman's comp after seeing the first Dees and Dogs game but after seeing it today I think afl under 19s would be money better spent.

the talent pool is already too diluted with all the other teams fielding woman's teams.  The WA clubs played an expo game this year, Brisbane, dogs, and Dees. Not sure if there has been any SA teams yet.

the first couple of woman's games were the best playing the best. Today just looked like who ever could kick the ball got a game.

From the BF board:

"viney gawn and jones also carrying illness, but apparently well enough to play. seems like something going through the club. Hopefully we're not flat"

That's a bit of a worry!!

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
