Great news for one of my favorite non MFC players. I always rated him as a far more important cog in Hawthorn's wheel than Frankenstein. 

I just hope they have not put too high expectations on a guy in remission from, and recovering from a life threatening illness.   Stress and pressure can at times be detrimental.

I think Mitchell time was up,  but  getting rid of Lewis was stupid,  Hodge has nothing left this well be his last year where Lewis has 3 seasons left,  the hawks  had to let go champions slowly, but out of Lewis Hodge and Mitchell in terms  of age and still being one of the top players in the AFL Lewis is 1 Mitchell 2 and Hodge is 3, they held onto the one who should have put the team before himself, but that's good what they did,  the hawks think they are smarter then all the other great teams in history,  history has all ways shown that every empire will fall

But they did get Vickery ?

Expect to see him dramatically improve with the sort of delivery into the forward 50 that Sam Mitchell and Jordan Lewis  bring to the Hawks......oh wait...

They didn't really get rid out Lewis - rather they offered him an ordinary way forward expecting him to fall into line. And he didn't.

I cannot wait for the 30 secs before the opening bounce in round 7. Just hope there's one camera dedicated to Jordan Lewis.

Will be great to see him confidently marshalling his troops all wearing the red and the blue against the leaderless Hawks. I reckon our junior brigade will walk very tall next to him and generally get around him.

Would also be interesting to have another camera fixed on Clarkson to see how much he's enjoying the scene unfold before him.

I want to own the Hawks from now on. In fact, our domination of them possibly commenced on 6 Aug 2016. No looking back now.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
