I'd prefer Kelly. Quicker and a beautiful kick. Scully kicks it like a VFL player. Up and under every time.

Kelly just doesn't get enough of the ball though, Scully has been getting mid 20's each week.

Great to see us belt an opponent. Clearly they are down (both with injuries and in confidence) but we've faced opponents like that before and not won by 73 points.

To kick 24 goals with Hogan and Watts combining for just 1 shows that we are building massive depth.

To be +95 in disposals but +8 in tackles indicates superior work rate and effort, too. 22 tackles inside 50 (compared to 5) is also a highlight.

Massive test next week. We get "lucky" in some regards to get the Dogs in their first game for the year away from Etihad. 7 weeks in a row for them on the hard surface, with them not playing the G well and, fingers crossed, 30,000+ MFC supporters there. If we bring the right attitude and we limit the clangers we can beat them, I believe that.

Awesome win after our first half effort trying too work into OUR game plan ( see ball, get ball....Clarry). Plenty of ticker in this team, finally. Pedo,I thought, had his best game for the Dee's this arvo, a great contribution. Gawn's 2 tap out's too JV and our Capt for early goals in the 3rd were.......sublime. We may well gain back some respect, not gunna hold my breath for it tho. Love our talented and hard young recruits.

Way too many times we get ahead of ourselves with bold predictions. For me, I'm  rapt about today's victory and now beating the dogs next week!

How good were Matt Grandland and Brett Phillips (both from SEN) at commentating today.

No ego, no nonsense, just good old-fashioned commentating.

Good on Foxtel for getting in some new, real commentators.

With Channel 7 it's all Bruce, Dennis, Basil and Hamish. No one new. None of them (bar Dennis) are any good.

...and it's the Pink Lady game. Reflecting, on Mothers Day eve, that our club carries itself very well in this regard, get on to your social networks to get people there for that reason, as well as for the cracker game it should be.

We actually moved up the ladder last week despite our loss, so this sort of squares the ledger.

And somewhere Cameron Schwab is nodding, smiling and mumbling to himself 'I told you so!'

26 touches and 1.1 is pretty good.

Trac kicked his first goal right in front of us, what a moment! Then he doubled up!

That Hogan goal called touched in 2nd quarter was clearly over the line!

The forward pressure noteably in 3/4 was insane! spent, what an exciting team.

That every stadium that hosts more than one AFL game does not have goal line technology is a classic example of why I have little but contempt for the jokers that run our game

Pedo and Kennedy. Two pretty good games tonight. Every time I see Kennedy I chuckle about how we pinched him from Collingwood. Plays like total in and under.

Pedo real confidence player in my book and  he clicked tonight. No hesitation, went straight into the centre and took it on. Keep at it.

I love the excuse the AFL use that it comes down to money. Seriously "goal line technology" is a few cameras set on record, something tells me if the AFL wanted it, they could afford it.

What a great game it was!!

My observations...

1. Garry Ablett is cooked, or playing severely injured.

2. MFC have a large GC supporter base or a lot of fans made the trip up because we deffiantly had more fans there tonight.

3. Prestia will be a fantastic addition for us next year, all class.

Goal line technology is a lot more expensive than what people think. It's not just the cameras but the delivery of the signal back to the broadcast and then facilitating a way of constantly recording it for the entire game. Bare in mind that they provide all this infrastructure and there's a reasonably good chance it won't even be used.

That said, it should be across the board, if you have it at one regular venue then you have it at all venues.

I did similar, but have been getting more serious after the Goldstein game (where Gawn handled him). My reasoning was that if Gawn could do that to Goldstein, then he will most likely do that to most ruckman, and providing we win, he'll get the 2 or 3. I think he stands out. Massive show, few more dominant weeks he will at least be a lock for the place.

Quick mention about Oliver. Never ever seen a bloke do five ups in the space of ten seconds. Someone care to confirm if I am right or not.

Also if he did, without any comment would be good for the whole team to see it.

I understand I undersold the technicality of it but I'm sure the AFL could still afford to implement it at all regular stadiums, if they wanted to of course.

Can't wait to watch the replay, couldn't really watch properly earlier as was at my old man's for his bday and the kids were running riot. That 3rd quarter was electric, every time I looked up wed kicked another. 8 or 9 goals in half a quarter!

Dees were running riot too!
