Good to see Harmes has really responded this week. Clarry may have only had 7 disposals, but he's also had 5 tackles, so effort is there.

Michie clearly isn't AFL standard, some not liking Wagner's performance, but at least he knows how to find the ball and get involved.

Liking Hunt. I was OK that Michie got the call up, but 3 possessions in a half of footy?

He's been playing most of the game on Jack Martin, whose had just 4 disposals, so he's doing well in that regard.  We just need a bit more run from him now.

many others - not good enough - too many missed handpasses with disastrous consequences.

4.2 26

2.3. 15 (us)

Who taught them to handpass 3 inches, to a player standing still, with an opponent all over him?

True, but he's turned it over a few times.  Guys like McDonald do the same thing, but would you be happy with the turnovers?  Can't have it both ways.

I know I will get howled down becuase I have written on this forum for a long time now, but I'm struggling to get excited by Petracca.

Oliver has had less of the ball but I feel like he has had a far greater impact on the game and Petracca reminds me a little bit of Tapscott in that he seems to lack sideways agility.

We must be the laziest team when it comes to physically bending down to pick up a ball.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say what we are ranked #1 in the comp at:

#1 in bending down to pick up a ball

#1 in giving away dumb free kicks

#1 at not being able to get it out of the backline with any efficiency

#1 at getting done for holding the ball because we hatch it

#1 at crowding the forward line and then #1 at bombing it over our forwards heads

#1 at saying Sam Frost is the answer to our backline's problems when clearly he is the worst player on our list

#1 at stupid short pointless handballs

#1 at calling for stupid short pointless handballs

#1 at causing me to alarm my neighbours by punching the couch and hurting my wrist whilst screaming at the TV

*the most frustrating team in the AFL to watch, nearly impossible in fact.

*the easiest team to score against in the AFL, we just gift the opposition uncontested goals.

*the most inefficient ball users in the AFL, our clangers and fumbles are absolute game killers.

It shouldn't be the case, but because of those last two things, and even though the Suns are two players down, I just can't see us winning it from here. We're just too easy to exploit, and too ready to give the ball away.

True Wise. And after seeing Garland's brain fade, the sooner we get poor disposers not just out of the team the better.

But you first need to get the ball before you use it 'well'.

Petracca looks no where near fit enough to be playing at this level, shouldn't have come in so early

Jetta will be a big loss. He's so reliable and started well again today.

Our midfield needs to tidy up, we're getting enough ball but are so fumbly!

Is Jetta injured?

The TV broadcast is so bad. Endless close-ups of the bloke on the mark or about to kick giving the viewer no idea of what is going on.  They used to do this a lot - in fact I hadn't noticed they had stopped doing it so much until tonight reminded me of the bad old days.  Looks like the old director and camermen have retired to the gold coast and get dredged up to do these matches.

It would be a remarkable achievement to make Col look like a star.

Could someone tell Kennedy to stop playing on, when we have a free kick close to goal. He nearly cost us Jones' goal and that was his third play on.

He has lost form since earlier in the year.

I think the run he's provided has been fantastic. The fact he's managed to ensure his opponent hasn't got it a lot is great. I just hope he can play four quarters.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
