Needed more from Frost and Pedders, perhaps one will make way for Lumumba though three changes to a winning team may be too much?.

I would not be upset if Tyson was dropped, Frost stays in simply to help Gawn and Pedersen in the ruck.

Let's not get seduced by a win, we were lucky to get the points and a fair few underperformed.

OUT: OMac (injured), Harmes, Pedo

IN: Brayshaw, Lumumba, Dunn

Love Harmesy, but he just looked not ready for the step up in pace and his awareness and decision making was poor. Forward line was 100x better without Pedo, plus he could barely get his feet off the ground when running in the second half.

Bugg, Frost and Tyson all need to lift next week.

Ignore the win. All 3 are starting 22. Harmes and Bugg/Tyson were poor. 

After watching the game again. I would drop Frost and keep the extra runner. The forwardline looks alot better with Hogan, Watts and one other tall. 

Bugg and Tyson on notice this week.

McDonald for Dunn. Was there today and I'm not sure how he does it, but Sam Frost plays a foot shorter than he is (if that makes sense). Needs to develop a presence.

You would think Dunn is an automatic inclusion with Oscar injured.

Then you've got Brayshaw and, probably, Lumumba who are both ready to go.  Who do you drop?  Frost and Pedo were both average but they play a different role to those two and we don't have direct replacements for them.  Harmes might be the one in a bit of trouble and Gus is the one I would bring in.  So:

In:  Dunn, Brayshaw

Out:  O Mac, Harmes.

I would have thought H and Angus might be short of a run and could benefit from a full run in the VFL first (ie next week). 

To that end, it's just Dunn for OMac.

Bugg, Frost and Harmes the only others in the frame for demotion this week I think.

Tyson just needs confidence and Essendon is perfect for them.

I agree to a point, but I reckon we took one too many talls in to our forward line. As others have mentioned, Hogan had no space to work with, and it probably wasn't a coincidence that he shone as soon as Pedersen nicked off to defense.

The only reason I haven't made a change like that is I'm not sure there are any obviously better choices at this stage.

Brayshaw for Pedersen (or Frost) not really that fussed, but I'd keep Frost. 

Stretch for Harmes.

We finished the game with O'Mac off. Pedersen at full back.

So Dunn takes Pedersen and O'Mac spot down back. Stretch is the midfield runner we need. Brayshaw the forward/midfield rotation we need with Vanders  playing more forward to provide the extra marking.

3 changes is a lot after a win, with only one forced. But we need more run and skills. The extra tall isn't needed and we have to play with more dash to stop the moments when we just have no run or dash. Stretch and Brayshaw will deliver it.

Well if JW continues to play like a key forward as he did today we don't need both Frost and Pedo up forward and we can include a medium sized, defensive type half forward instead. There are a number of them waiting in the wings, the trac, ANB, JT, Brayshaw.

 We have the luxury of perhaps playing Pedo down back and for his ruck work in place of an injured Oscar, although Dunn has to get a run. 

As as for the forward line today, the delivery was absolute Shyte. Maybe the up and under kicks were due to us thinking that we had so many talls.

Interesting Comment Return , I wonder if his self belief is quite there yet!?? Did some good things second half after a nondescript first half! I sat with an old mate of mine who played AFL ( or should I say the old VFL) and he reckons he does need to develop presence and needs to do  more. Rather think of him more as a better bet as a defender!

Well all know he's a defender, but for now there's not a spot for him back there and we need competition for spots up forward. Can't have Pedersen and no one. Need Frost and Pedo fighting each other to perform. I liked his second half. Hopefully he keeps taking a few more marks. His speed is phenomenal and his work rate very good.

Lumumba's experience was missing for 2015 as well. I'd like to see it before I believe it. But we certainly need another runner from wing/half back I think. So Lumumba or Stretch. I'd go Billy as he has composure. Which is what we really need.

I don't have a particular liking for Frost but I think his contribution to the team is undervalued on here - there were a number of pressure efforts that don't lead to stats that he did which directly lead to turnovers - I noticed this a number of times in the first quarter.

Having said that, it would make things a lot easier if he could clunk a few more marks and be a threat kicking for goal!
