Apart from Selwood and Dangerfield, their midfield is very overrated.

Wouldn't mind Duncan, Motlop, Caddy and Scott Selwood in Red and Blue

How good is Dangerfield (despite the two missed set shots)!

Good thing we have the next two dangerfields in petracca and Oliver

What's with this 'Tissot' clock on the boundary fences, showing the time left in the game?

Have I missed something? Why should these two teams get a count down clock if nobody else does??

It's been in every game I've seen so far.

Really? I completely missed it!

Seems like a cheap advertising stunt that creates an uneven playing field.

Sounds like the AFL to me....

Every team that won in round 1 plays a team in round 2 that lost which means it's mathematically possible for us to win next week and remain 9th.

I hate Hawthorn and I cannot stand the thought of another inevitable procession towards a Hawthorn flag, so I'll generally barrack for whoever their opponent is each week.

It's tough when the opponent is Geelong (and will also be tough when the opponent is Sydney).

Hawthorn, Sydney and Geelong have won 9 of the last 11 flags (add West Coast, who have the 10th of the 11, and you have four of this year's premiership contenders).

Heaven help the AFL (and the supporters of 14 or so clubs) if Hawthorn, Sydney, Geelong and West Coast make up this year's top 4.

Yeah it came up in our fourth quarter, with around 5 minutes to go.

Classic AFL "match day experience" gimmick.

Games against clubs like these i want to see Nathan Jones stand tall....

Really interesting start to the season, some beltings but some bloody good games from some teams (Dogs, Swans, Eagles). Only 3 teams kicked less than 10 goals, Dons, Pies and Freo.

Round 1 I know, but will be interesting to see how the reduced interchange hits a team like the Hawks and their older list. Delayed started after finals and some out but Cats ran over the top of them handily in the end.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
