I would have thought that now Crowley is on the Essendon books he can't have anything to do with the other 12 players. If that's right, someone needs to tell the Essendon social media person that this tweet was probably not the best one to publish.

To a certain extant I have sympathy for all the players, including Jobe who seems like a nice person. But i do wonder about his culpability in all of this. He is (was?) the captain of the club and such the key leader among the players - the talisman really. Surely he, and other senior players but in particular him, have to accept some responsibility for not refusing to participate in the supplement program, or at the very least discussing it with their managers, AFPLA , parents or for that matter ASADA.

If younger players had reservations it would have been very hard to take a different path once the senior players gave the program their approval.

Interesting comments by Hinkley, they end up with one less player than Essendon.

But the thing that interests me most is his comment about there not being a contingency plan already in place for CAS handing out bans. Surely event the inept and corrupt beast that is the AFL would have to have given this SOME thought? Apparently not.

Very interesting.  I hope we make a fuss too.  I bet the AFL did not offer Port, Saints and us the top-up option in case we diminished the stock of players that EFC could pursue.  Then again, maybe I'm ascribing too much foresight to the hapless characters running our game.

I certainly don't want my clubs money to pay for this. If it does then there will be no financial assistance given by me next year

I was wondering why Eddie hasn't come out and vigorously condemned the Kelty statement.  Eddie would go ballistic if a penny of AFL money was to go to the Swans!

...then I remembered that Kelty is the Chairman of the Board of David Evans' company of which Eddie is a Board member.  

So, hard to separate Essendon from the AFL swyl especially when all the other relationships between key players are considered.

So with Eddie gone quiet, which AFL Club Chairman is going to speak up for the other 17 16 clubs and lobby strongly for their interests...just to keep everyone 'honest'...yes, I know that is an oxymoron in current circumstances. 

It needs a strong club to go in to bat...Hawthorn would be a good one to step up to the plate.

given kelty was on the afl board for the duration of this saga (till end 2015), shouldn't he stay out of this and stop politicking?

one legal eagle said they want to find out how much the insurer will pay before they decide to add the afl to the litigation (i.e. if there is any shortfall)

lawyers are in box seat as neither essendon nor the afl wish to go to court less their skeletons get exposed. personally i hope they do contest it so there is no excessive profiteering

Those companies whom insure the insurance companies...

Lloyd's of London as an example. 

After the oil tanker went down in Alaska in the early 90's they took their shareholders to the cleaners. 

My stepdad being one of them.
