Surely this is still rehabbing exercises so his "good block of training" that Misson speaks of (ad nauseum I might add) will be a certain period of time post rehab. They won't rush him, even though he appears to be quite literally coming along in leaps and bounds.

I watched training this morning. Petracca, JKH, Trenners and Joel Smith trained with the NAB Challenge squad for Sunday. The lads playing at Casey tomorrow were unsighted. Gus did multiple run throughs and looked good, albeit with a heavily bandaged knee. Dawes rode laps on Trenner's scooter. Benny Newton did a lot of hard work with Crossy. Jayden Hunt trained away from the main group on the back oval.

So many times Christian was on the end of full ground ball movement drills. It looks like the club will be using him as a deep forward meaning fitness won't be such an issue. Hopefully we see him sooner rather than later.

to echo the thoughts of others: between the fact that he was well, nearly number 1 pick, the massive wraps from the media and from what myself and others have seen at training - the anticipation around this kid is something else. The great thing, however, is that there are 5 or 6 other kids around with the same glow on them so it isn't the intense spotlight it has been on some of our previously-anticipated 'messiahs'. People will go insane when he runs onto the G.

He just looks like a gun!

The almighty #5 sits comfortably on his back too!

I struggle with the hype for a guy who has played no senior football anywhere and is coming off a serious knee injury and then a broken toe.

He must be the Messiah!

I'm just starved for some one to wear the #5 worthy of the oc

It is hard to believe he could be worse than the previous holder

his agility is insane.

And by the look of his physique he should have a low centre of gravity and so be able to keep his feet in tight situations and be very difficult to knock off any ball he is going for.

Will the VFL pracco matches be televised?

Wouldn't have thought so mate.  Hopefully a few Demonlanders will be able to get there and provide a few updates for those of us who can't make it.

You struggle with any positivity though, don't you?

come on, embrace it. Petracca will be great, it's plain to see.

Maybe us Dees fans are expecting too much from him straight away, but remember before he did his knee he was tracking as well as (if not better) than Gus. His ability and desire is well known, and to me for someone who has such a great natural ability I feel it won't take him long to make an impact. Whether it's on the same level as Gus or Jesse when they had their first years, maybe not, but I'm sure by mid way through the year (injuries permitting) he'll be a settled important cog to the team.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. I apologize for skipping our annual season review show at the end of last season. After a disapponting season filled with off-field antics and a heated trade week, I needed a break. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
