Dunn not good enough anymore Barney?

I did have him in the BP originally then moved him to HB Then tried to fit him in at HF

In the end out he went.

We will see quite a bit of that next season.

Ain't that great.

Only thing we miss is a 200cm forward/ruck that many teams have. I still think being small(ish) inside 50 can work, we'll just have to get the balance right at both ends of the ground. We know how good Hogan and Garlett are but we need a whole forward line.

I think Salem will be our most important player this season. He deserves a full season. A quality ball user off half back makes a huge difference.

Really hoping Frost can hold down a position too. A restructure in defence would help us

Sorry to be the one to include the unknown draft picks..... but if it's Parish and Weideman then it could look like....

Jetta TMac Garland
Melks Dunn Frost
Parish Jones Brayshaw
Petracca Weed Vanden
Watts Hogan Garlett
Gawn Vince Viney
Int: Salem, Tyson, Bugg, Kent

I like the look of 200cm Max King. He's a forward/ruck. Played 8 games for Casey this year kicking 13 goals and taking 30 marks (15 contested). In fact, he's a really good mark and has neat kicking skills for a tall.

He's not quite ready. 1-2 years. Plays all of next year as a 20 year old.

Callum Sinclair came from Port, is 26 and has played 29 games. Sydney were very keen to take him off West Coast's hands. Like King, he's not a number one ruck, but more a forward/ruck.

It can take a while, but Max is tracking exceptionally well.

This is really difficult to do. A lot of players of similar potential output.

B: Jetta Dunn Garland

HB: Lamumba/Bugg TMac Melksham

C: Salem N Jones Vince

HF: Kent Hogan Brayshaw

F: Petracca Dawes/Frost Garlett

R: Gawn Viney Tyson

I: Trengove, VandenBerg, Kennedy, White (if I remember, Mitch White is the left-footer)

I hate putting two players in one position but I cannot separate or decide between Dawes or Frost, Lamumba or Bugg. Whichever one makes it the other will not make it into the 22. I also have a sneaking suspicion that one of Max King or young Smith the tall Rookie may surprise for the 2nd big forward role to help Hogan, and neither Dawes nor Frost will hold their spot.

Disappointed I couldn't fit Harmes, Bugg, Stretch or ANB into the 22.

FB: Jetta Dunn Garland

HB: Salem TMac Melksham

C: Vince Viney Watts

HF: Kent Dawes Petracca

FF: Frost Hogan Garlett

R: Gawn Jones Tyson

Int: Vanders, Brayshaw, Lumumba, Bugg

Depth:

Pure backmen: OMac, White, Terlich

Back/Mid: Grimes

Pure Mid: Trengove, Stetch, M Jones, Mitchie

Fwd/Mid: Newton, ANB, JHK, Kennedy

Pure Fwd: Harmes, Hunt

Ruck/Fwd: Spencer (altough only ruck), King, Pedersen

If we went to the draft searching for positions rather than best available (which we will), I'd say we still want more mids, especially classy in/out mids (we should be right for inside mids), key forwards or fwds who can ruck, another key back and another ruck.

IMO Guys who need a big season to make it to 2017 would be: Pedersen, Spencer, King, Hunt, Harmes, Mitchie, M Jones, Terlich, Grimes and Mitchie. That excludes Trengove who just needs to get on the park and play footy consistently, otherwise if injury hits again he'll probably retire.

By the by pro dee I'm with you on king. Going forward I reckon he will be crucial player. I remember thinking when he kicked a goal in his one and only nab game in 2014 that he had something. Quite agile for a big fella

B: Jetta, Dunn, Garland

HB: Lumumba, T. McDonald, Melksham

C: Vince, Tyson, Salem

HF: Kent, Dawes, Vandenberg

F: Garlett, Hogan, Pedersen

R: Gawn, Jones, Viney

I :Bugg, Brayshaw, Watts, Kennedy

E: Stretch, Neal-Bullen, Frost

Trengove and Petracca could work their way into the best 22, but will need some VFL games to start I'd think. Lumumba very lucky to make the starting 18, as I'd prefer Salem on HB.

The MFC site has the correct spelling (you'd expect). Then again, you may just be trying to get a ride out of me?

... Pedersen played 2 games this year from my counting that absolutely got him picked for the next week, otherwise he was average to somewhat useful. That he is so beloved on here has me baffled,...

it's quite simple, he can consistently take an overhead mark and is a better ruck option

Included the new boys as Roos has a track record of playing the guys he recruits.

Not a whole lot of structural change in the talls but there should be competition for spots especially down back. The main thing I'm hoping for is increased speed and endurance and hopefully more goal kicking power.

I have had a look at the games played of the team you listed, which I think will be close, and compared it to the top four from 2015 as they played in the prelim finals. Results show just how lacking we are in experience, but that points to good times ahead if we can keep the group together. Also says west Coast are looking like the most likely of this bunch to have sustained success for the next 5 years or so with a big bunch of 100-150 gamers coming through, that may well be us in another 4 years or so (hopefully sooner).

I'm hopeful that Hunt can have a full pre-season. I know the family and the word was that Roos was grooming him for a HBF prior to a recurrence on his back problem. Has been given a 12 month contract. One issue may be a lack of height across that line unless Lumumba plays.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
