Can deals still get done over the weekend?

No, but I'm sure the journo's will concoct some unbelievable trade deals to keep us buying the papers.

Sorry Wiseblood i beg to differ..unless youre infering ratified. The dealing goes on and on. You cant for a minute suggest the shenanigans that go on all year suddenly keep to m-f 9-5 sts.

I could have sworn we landed the Mitch Clark trade on a Saturday night back in 2011.

I don't mind the idea of Bugg, but struggle to see the purpose of Kennedy. I'll back the decisions that Roos & Co make, but at this stage I'm not too sure what part of the recruiting blueprint Jesse Hogan is so impressed by.

Ssshhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Let him sign the extension first before he realises!

From memory Neeld etc flew up to meet him on Saturday or Friday night. The paperwork to make the deal offical would have been done in business hours Monday to Friday. Feel welcome to correct me if that's incorrect.

The Melbourne FC Twitter page confirmed it on the Saturday night. Perhaps the paperwork wasn't lodged until the Monday but I can definitely remember waking up on the Sunday morning and being over the moon. If only I'd known...

Townsend deal reminds me of the Morton deal and Rodan deal. A nothing deal which means GWS were going to delist him. Miles was a win for Tigers. MFC would like one of these wins.

Garlett & 83 for 61 & 79 didn't do it for you?

One of the great modern footy media paradoxes (along with how someone could appoint Mark Robinson as their Chief Football Writer), is that a guy who completely ruined Richmond's list is known as 'The List Manager'. This is a guy who had absolutely no idea how to build a list and picked Tambling over Roughead and Franklin.

I'd rather listen to a drunk duck discuss our list than Terry Wallace. At least, I'd get something out of it.

At this stage our trade period is a bust.

Hopefully it improves but I'm not holding my breathe.

Yes how high we were! It didn't take too long for the ballon to deflate.

Yes remember it very well, it was Saturday night, not as well as i remember us drafting Cook at 12 in the 2010 draft when Darling was still on the board (or anyone else for that matter).

Disagree. I always find Terry great to listen to.

Also, knowing the mistakes made by an under resourced Richmond gives him a great insight into what not to do. Afterall, we learn from our mistakes.

Only two months ago Wallet said our list was ahead of the saints on tac future stars. Now he says this.

Wallace. lol. The only person in the world to make our drafting over the last 15 years look good.

And you do listen often?

I don't seek out his wisdom, no, but he knows football.

Just had a problem with execution in his last stint...

And you can delete posts should you deem them disregardable.

It's easy to dismiss plough's comments but they weren't too wide of the mark. We're still trading in the economy of hope and potential after all this time.

No point deleting a post when you're making a point. And clearly I am. You rarely hear him and are merely judging him on his recruiting record at Richmond. It's a shallow argument (he was coach not recruiter), but yes, it's often made.

But look, I get you like the sound of your own voice and on this occasion you provided a little merriment to some.

I know Demonlanders are going to eat this up.

Anyone find it amusing, or worrying that on the AFL website, there are "Get excited by" videos for all the players moving clubs, but not one for Melksham.

There is a Get excited by:

  • Jetta
  • Bennell
  • Henderson
  • Dangerfield
  • Leuenberger
  • Dean Gore! - he hasn't even played an afl game

....but not one for Melksham. I can't help but laugh...and by laugh, I mean curl up in a ball and cower in a corner.

OH MY GOD! Enough negativity..

Well AFL.COM writing team used here demon sliding doors prediction as "some believe demons paid overs for a melksham, we think that in 12 months - Melksham for 25 will look real good for the Dees."

I'm para-phrasing slightly but the half back plan works for me and trade period is barely underway, just wait! There'll be 50+ deals done this period, or close to it.

Trust in the men paid to and passionate about returning this club to the top end, I do.

Our new star is already there, 95% of "stars" are drafted, not traded for. Vines, Hogan, Brashaw, Petracca (better than any kid in this years draft and would be most obv #1 pick in history if drafted this year), Gawn, Tyson (basically used middle of season as his pre season last year, guy is a STUD - well ahead of Treloar In ceiling), Alex NB, Frost, Mcdonald inc Oscar, White will be a gun, King may be ready to play 2nd fiddle late this year, Stretch is so underrated here it's not funny & so forth.. Hogan,Petracca, Brayshaw are stars of future starting now, Viney may go down as our toughest and most beloved player of all time, mark my words - Tyson could be Hodge like with some luck.. Gawn is best young Ruxk in game. Let's calm down peeps!

Plus - Bugg will get done, Rosa or Stanton are being considered for Cross like role, Bastinac was in frame maybe not now but one of Prestia/Gaff/Parker/Rockliff will be a demon 17' perhaps - so let's not throw the bath out with baby water just yet folks! Don't be shocked if Dixon comes into play, were sniffing about I know that much.

GO DEES!!!

Cheers

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
