Now I understand why it is you rate Garland so highly also.

We have a completely different understanding of what 'playing well' means.

I think this is more revealing about youre understanding mate. Sure, his disposal was less than average, but he wore walker like a blanket which is exactly his role.

Was a key player (among so many others in an imperious performance) last night, good on him. I'm happy for him.

Commentators say Frawley was brilliant on Tex! Ha!! Group think spilling over into Demonland, what's new.....

I wonder how many commentators are drinking mates with Tex & how many are friends with Frawley's uncle, all part of the industry commentators boys club if you ask me.

The Crows were a shadow of themselves last night, Frawley was barely challenged all night cause Tex couldn't get near it up forward. Clako is 100% correct in giving credit to team defense rather than Frawley. I would go so far as to point out that Dunn has won more 1on1 contests and lost much less than Frawley as a defender over the past few years & is much much better with the ball in hand than Frawley has ever been in his career including his AA season........ That is why Frawley was played forward in his last year rather than Dunn or Garland, I g'tee Roosy rates them above Frawley as defenders & he knows how important it is to have good users of the ball coming out of defense (hence Grimes' struggles under Roos, Salem moving to HB, recruitment of H, letting Frawley walk etc etc).

That is sheer rubbish! Has played well I a top team. Your heart is overriding your judgment.

He is a doubtful decision maker but otherwise is a first rate player. Is at the Hawks for the long term. After Lake retires he will be their key defender

Sometimes I wonder what supporters watch in a game of footy.

Walker had minimal supply all night. Barely any opportunities one-on-one. And Frawley was not his opponent the whole night.

Clarkson's response was bang on the money. Hawthorn's pressure on the ball carrier didn't allow Walker anything.

To say Frawley had a great game is honestly hilarious. Sure he made two or three elementary Backman spoils.

When he has the ball in his hands, he stands out like a sore thumb in that Hawthorn team. Decision making is awful. Is just a dumb footy player plain and simple.

Some of the posts are truly embarrassing on this thread.

Gee Steve.......So if I disagree with you......I post embarrassing posts???? You are so prejudiced you can't even admit that he played well last night in a very good side that won a flag last year.....He has played most games for them only, missing through injury.

I doubt that the Hawthorn Footy club agree with you. They must see the games differently to you

I thought he played very well and I wish him all the luck in the world.

Honestly, there is no point arguing if you can't see it.

You must be another who was either listening to the commentary or read in the media that it was him who kept Walker out of the game.

To say that it was Frawley who was solely responsible for curbing the influence of Walker and shutting him out of the game is completely ignoring and paying no respect to these two facts:

1: Hawthorn's midfield pressure disallowing Adelaide any quality inside 50 entries and therefore any sort of advantage to Walker.

2: Frawley wasn't Walker's only opponent. If Frawley is getting this (unwarranted) credit, surely players like Lake deserve it also?

Seriously. You're a nuff nuff. You're whole argument is based on nothing other than the affection you clearly have for the guy.

Bit harsh Frosty given he played well last night. The guy is playing finals footy. We are just jealous.

Hes an imposter. Hawks mids destroyed Adelaide which meant no real ball came near Tex. He's a weak link and will be exposed. the only joy I can get out of this is Hawthorns demise

I'm happy if people think Frawley played well regardless of the facts. So far most of the guys we have traded out have been pretty useless. Last thing we want is for oppo clubs to think that trading for an ex-MFC player is a mistake. Go Frawley!

I was at the game last night and Frawley did well on Tex. Yes Tex didnt get great ball delivery but Chippa kept up with him and put in some good spoils. Now he is playing in a prelim which is why he left us, to play finals. So good luck to him and lets move on.

How was his disposal last night? Cause you'd probably want more than a few spoils for his $$ no?

Plenty of Hawks supporters I know are still underwhelmed regardless of last night.

The verdict is in and Frawley is guilty.

Of crimes against fashion.

It’s amazing what football players will put their bodies through in pursuit of money and success. Such commitment is truly astounding.

That Hawks jumper on Chip looks like something one would wear to a bad taste 80's party. Appalling.

suits him

I guess Frawley drew the short straw to be the 'dummy' and model that yellow and brown monstrosity!!!! :o

Here is our version of the 'Ugly Sweater'.

How the AFL expects to sell them for $80 I will never know!

Max doesn't look too happy about being the model either but at least our jumper looks decent!!

I wonder how much Gawn was paid to agree to be photographed in that

You can imagine the changeroom banter!!

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
