I don't get people on here though.

I saw someone earlier saying they would drop Newton before Watts... yet they are probably the same sort of person who would then come out and complain that Newton only got one game and there is no continuity in the side and blah blah blah.

Does anyone not realise that, possibly, Watts was dropped simply because he was out of form? Perish the thought.

Nah, lets go right over the top with ridiculous speculation that he's been dropped because he is part of some trade deal instead.

Our supporters are too bipolar for their own good.

Well I didn't think he was out of form for him anyway. He has had his usual issues in the last 5 games or so but managing around that 18 or 20 possessions intermingled with some clangers but often because he has tried to set something up in a moribund team.

I have found this decision quite odd. And surely it has nothing to do with a trade by us. Has he walked into Roosey office and said he wants out?

Watts late in for N Jones?

Only reason they dropped Watts was to save the embarrassment and confidence of Michie and Newton who's careers are at the cross roads and whom have both been in and out of the side like yoyos.

And my other thought on this is that the last 3 weeks have been a disgrace. The first quarters have been disgraceful and much of the blame sits with the leadership group, N Jones, Vince , Dawes et al have all gone missing in the first quarter and more. Why Watts is all I ask and why now, earlier in the year would have made more sense, in addition to his self imposed demotion.

As big a nonsensical selection as there ever has been!

I smell a Rat!

Surely there is more to this than meets the eye!

Conspiracy theories now will be bigger than ever!

Why? At this stage of season!

I smell a RAT!

40 wins in 8 years.

Out of games by quarter time.

This list is not working.

Aside from probably Hogan, Brayshaw, Gawn, Petracca and Viney I'll be open to moving on any player.

What about Salem, Vandenberg, Stretch, ANB

Why would they do this??

Nup

I wonder about this!??

He is the best user of the footy at the club!

The stats prove it!

I am a Jacky fan

But I worry about this move at this stage!

I reckon Watts has started on the bench for the last couple of weeks too.

Don't know what to make of it

He is improving but still is one of the first to go missing when momentum goes against us.

Sending him a message I reckon, 'We know how good you can be but you need to bring it every week. Have a big pre-season and get some consistency about you, or this is what your 2016 will hold!'

Then again, I could be the one having a hold.....

Watts dropped is interesting. I am not bothered with it though, hes just not that good of a player.

Though I would have dropped Howe before him.

Reckon Watts will play, don't reckon NJones will come up

If we pull off a win, would you like to list them for us on Monday?

Garland, Howe, Cross (retired), Grimes, White, Harmes, O Mac, JKH, Michie, Newton. I'm talking best 22 here. None of those guys should be or will be best 22 next year.

GWS are missing the following from their best 22. The ones in bold were in their best when they played us in round 2.

Mumford

Coniglio

Shiel

Scully

Griffen

Patfull

Davis

Hoskin-Elliott

Haynes

That's huge. Haven't followed GWS heavily this year, but Mumford was the player who turned the game for them earlier this year. If Gawn can get on top early, I reckon we're a real shot. We would have walked it home earlier in the year had it not been for Mumford.

It's pretty ugly isn't it

'grim' and 'bleak' are two other words that spring to mind

huge injury list though, I would make 8 changes straight up if everyone was fit, is the only saving grace

It's ugly, but I'm not saying we can't win it.

Reckon the untouchable core is Hogan, Brayshaw, Gawn, Petracca, Viney, Salem and Tyson. Vanders, Stretch and ANB won't be being shopped anywhere either. Tommy Mac might be in there somewhere too.

I've seen Gawn dominate the ruck a couple of times this year but not to our advantage. That's just inexperience IMO.

This Sunday might be no different and when the ball drops to ground I know where my money's going. Especially if Chunky's on one foot.

I think that you might be on the money with Watts replacing N. Jones! The interchange named are all inside/outside midfielders!

The collateral damage arising from the late news of Jetta and Spencer being injured (plus the promotion of White) is that it doesn't auger well for Casey's depth going into their Elimination Final tomorrow.

fark we can't lose Watts

there are about 3 people on the list with genuine class and he is one of them

So Watts and Howe for Prestia and bennell doesn't interest you?

I agree, but I'm simply going on the first match against GWS this year. Without a dominant ruckman, GWS are nothing.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
