GAME DAY - Round 21

Featured Replies

Insipid effort, insipid players, insipid club.

Get that in Latin and change the clubs motto to it, cos that's what we fucken are.

This is just hilarious now. Garlett hasn't had a stat. Dawes is actually on negative DT points.

Don't worry guys, this game is meaningless.

What the hell was Grimes doing there??

Our players literally dont want the ball!

How selfish of you to expect them to get the ball and risk potential injury when they have just booked bali

I cannot believe this [censored]!!i am just about done supporting this pathetic [censored] club!

I still think well win...

Our transition from attack to defence is deplorable. Do we ever have more defenders back than our opponents have forwards? Good teams work hard, so that they outnumber the opposition both back and forward. We’re too lazy to do that.

Booooooooooooooo

For more info, see our fixture at the end of last year vs. GWS. Our heads aren't in it.

QTR time

Blues 6.2-38

Mb 1.2- 8

Game practically over already.

How Melbourne are we.

Ok do people understand why i say Jones is not Captain material...

He epitomises the losing culture.

Poor guys. They just want the season to end. Must be so hard for them.

Yeah, poor buggers must be so tired from trying so hard all year.

Hogan kicking is poor today but his marking is so so good.

what one mark

A lot going Carlton's way atm.

But seriously embarrassing effort as well.

Some of our senior leaders are [censored] weak

Haven't seen a second. Doesn't look like I will want to.

It might not mean much for 2016 but after last week and after Vince and Roos said things about how important it was for us to fire up and respond, for us to be down by 30 points at quarter time, with fewer disposals and fewer tackles, is a disgrace, and an embarrassment.

Roos has to take blame for failing to have us mentally up for that first quarter. That's three consecutive weeks of limp first quarters. Roos must take blame, along with our infuriatingly insipid leaders.

Mai Tais on Kuta beach everybody!

What a rabble

I still think well win...

Why does it matter, they don't have Gibbs, Yarran, Henderson, Dale Thomas and big Levi and are 5 goals up.

If that's not an indictment on the players, coaches and club nothing is.

Sick of excuses.

We should win they game by 50 at least.

They lost the Brisbane by ten goals.

this is just embarrassing, imagine what the young blokes would be thinking when the senior blokes just aren't having a crack against the bottom side on the G

Daniel Cross and Jeff Garlett are yet to have a disposal while Lumumba has 1..

Unbelievable

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
