well that was bloody enjoyable

nice to see footy without the rugby scrum. good skills

and better still, the dees win....yay

Marking and kicking skills were good for both teams. Handballing and awareness of being about to be tackled were the weakest points I thought.

yep marking and especially kicking were a feature

picking the ball up cleanly off the ground the weakest aspect generally

oh, and some of the tackling was excellent

Wow. Seriously? This is the level of Demonland now?

Total lack of respect shown to the girls by this website.

Even the thread title is a disgrace.... The other game... Why not MFC woman's game Demons Vs Bulldogs?

How hard is it to show our own club the respect it deserves.

My silly comments were made in jest of course but I am glad Stuie managed to pick me up on it.

"The Moral Arbiter" of Demonland FMD.

As for the game.

Great spectacle, and a very good standard of footy.

Well umpired and highly watchable .

Hope to see more of it.

Fairly brutal watching girls crack their heads open I must say but FULL respect to both teams.

Sounds a bit like "I'm not racist, but...."

Exactly the same.

The league cut the game by 90 seconds in the last quarter. No idea why. Even the commentary team was caught unawares. They said there was two minutes to go and then said "No its only 18 seconds" The clock still showed 90 seconds. No respect to these players. It was a very enjoyable game.

The game was running behind time. There was an obligation to finish the woman's game by a given time (for the start of the main match), probably a broadcaster stipulation.

Yes but the reason I have been told is that the Men required 1 hour warm up. FFS as if 90 seconds was going to make a difference. Should have dumped Mike Fitzpatrick's insipid presentation speech saying how surprised he was that it was "tough". Annoyed a fair few players with that patronising quip. You wonder about the AFL. 170 odd new teams registered this year. That's a hell of a growth rate which should be getting the AFL excited given the problems they are experiencing.

i don't see anything wrong with saying how surprised he was that it was tough

unless you have anything against honesty

i found it tougher than i had expected, and that is in no way patronising

we all know it is get fitzpatrick week, but to hang him on that comment is being over zealous

as for the excuse over the lost 90 seconds. pathetic by the afl. i bet the doggies were impressed with less than a kick in it

you only have to ask yourself if it was an afl double header, would they have cut the game short.....no fn way

Typical superior white male condescending attitude.

I've come to expect nothing less!!

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
