The other game this weekend

This might be the last exhibition game. Really hope the MFC is keen to obtain one of the licenses once the national comp is launched. I've been really proud of the role our club has played over the last three years in the rise of women's footy. It would be a real shame if our involvement didn't continue.

If the Demons had a fundraiser to set up and properly resource a permanent women's team, I'd be chipping in my little bit for sure.

They are training at Gosch's Paddock this morning at 11:30am for anyone close enough to get down there.

Let's hope adelaide and Geelong get smashed. Should improve our chances of getting Danger :)

but, but......we can't allow essendope to beat the crows......priorities, please

crows can lose the last 3 games by an avg of 100pts instead

Love the way Channel 7 is getting behind this and showing the game.

Meanwhile, the AFL international app, which showed the U/18 championships, obviously deems this to be beneath them...

Er, this is the women's football game thread.....

sorry loonie, i was thinking the bummers were a mob of girls

Took my 2 daughters to the clinic at Gosch's this morning, run by the whole women's Demons team.

Kids loved it and all the women were great with the kids. Hung around afterwards to give all the kids a pink footy, team photo and player cards. Then signed them.

My 2 now can't wait to watch tomorrow's game.

Great job women's team and MFC!!!

I'm heading to the game with a group of my girlfriend's team mates from the Brunswick Renegades womens team. The girls have had the Dees logo on their shorts the past 2 seasons. I'm very proud of the the support the Dees have shown which has helped the girls get on the field

Yep but Ling almost injured our star high flying from last year when he didn't stand his ground with the specci bag last night! Wouldn't have been the best look for Seven!

I'm going to head in early to watch, I reckon this game will see the best reception for it. There's been lots of press about it and both teams (us in particular) are really getting behind it. I know it will never happen because of ground management but I'd love it if they became a semi permanent fixture as a curtain raiser.

Geez they are going in hard at Etihad. No backward steps. Melb up by 14 pts

You wouldn't get a touch out there Moonie.

These girls are staying in their positions,I forgot what that looks like.

I put this in the game day thread by mistake

Mate's daughter playing for the D's today....Keep an eye out for #9

There are some tough senoritas out there.

It's pretty brutal.

Wish the mens team..................................................(insert derogatory comment)

Dees still up? Score check please

4.3 to 0.2

Obviously it's live on TV but is there an internet stream of it as well?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbnae

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.

Melbourne’s much vaunted finishing power evaporated at Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon, exposed for the third time in four years by its Essendon Gather Round hoodoo.
