I'm intrigued by Fitzy's fall from the team. Surely he's worth a game? Jordie won't offer us anything in the midfield. At least Fitzy might up forward or back. I dread to think of our forward structure this weekend. Doesn't make sense.

I would guess the tunnel ball stunt basically sealed his fate. Roos doesn't quickly forgive things like that.

Agree. he does a lot of good things but his brain fades are epic - and frequent.

hmmm.... I remember thinking it was odd that Hogan came off after kicking his first goal last week. It was it the first couple of mins.

Watching the replay, it looks like he goes off to get his hamstring worked on. Must have been a little bit tight going into last week.

Explains why he fluffed that kick from outside 50.

Given the guys that are coming back in, surely that's not it.

it is a worry that someone of a hogans age has a back related hamstring- usually a chronic problem seen in older players.

Hogan injured his back last season. It takes time to build up the muscles after an injury like that.

Been on the list for what? 6 Years, for not many games! Nup not up to it! Discard at seasons end!

Roos even mentioned it in the presser as one of the reasons we lost the QB match. Not often Roos picks out a player like that.

Not many 200cm+ guys make it before their 6th year picket. He might go at the end of the season, but it won't be because he's just finished his 6th season at the age of 24.

Fair enough.

He blocked the people who were stalking him. :)

I wish! The closest interaction I've had with the Hulkster was having him hold open a door for me once.

I'll truly hit the big time when we start discussing EPL matches at training.

That's Roosey's fault for not playing him up forward. At least he would have added to the scoreboard!

He was brilliant in defence against the Bulldogs though, but the opposition was less than stellar.

We still, quite simply, have too many players with moments of brilliance and moments of incomprehensible stupidity.

I've seen enough after 40 plus years to write a short novel Lamash. Only wish it was mostly the former but alas. I'm now following the lead of some on here and instead focussing my efforts on JD & other stuff.... like Bailey's Luxe. Great for warming the heart during the cold of winter!

I'm taking a wild stab in the dark and guessing you're reasonably young Moneider. This is what 40+ years of barracking for the MFC does to you!

Another hamstring. That makes about 7 now. Wtf is Misson doing

It's clear that sports medicine isn't one of your strong points, but numeracy? We have 3 Hamstring injuries (Kent, Salem, VDB ... oh look, all young players ...)

Hogan doesn't have a hamstring injury, he has hamstring tightness. By pulling him out, Misson is doing his job, by, you know, helping to PREVENT injuries (hamstring or other ...)

BTW, lucky you don't follow Fremantle .... currently with 5 Hamstrings. Or Adelaide with 3 bung ankles. Or maybe you'd prefer the Lions with 5 Knees, same number as Geelong, though the Cats are doing better/worse with 4 foot injuries as well, unlike the Swans who seem to be able to limit their injuries primarily to Knees (4, which are 67% of their total) ... etc. etc.

Any good student of history knows what happened after that.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
