AFL - Round 8 (non MFC Games)

Recommended Posts

I saw the pre game interview with MM and he looked and sounded completely shot.

There was not one iota of confidence in anything he said.

There wasn't even any sense of any hope in his team or the game.

Whatever his faults its a bit sad to see a doyen of the game go out this way.

The irony of Carlton being gifted so many Friday nights, only to suck so horrendously, is not lost on me. It's made their life an absolute misery being in the spotlight every week instead of being shunted to Sunday afternoon slots like us.

At least we won ours! Makes me feel a bit better in the face of the recent shellackings...

Not watching the game but the scoreline is staring to get ugly in the Cats/Blues game. Is MM now on borrowed time?

After the verbal diarrhea from Trigg, Mick is very much on borrowed time

Saints catching up in the 2nd qtr.

Good fightback kicked 5.2 to 1.1 in the 2nd to trail by only 12 pts

Interesting to see if they can keep it going.

Even if Saints don't win their fight and resilience is growing with each game.

Would love for the Saints to knock off the Weagles. Biggest down-hill skiers in the comp at the moment, with the biggest flat-track bully in the league in Kennedy. Both have good games against weak opposition, yet go missing when they play decent teams.

Saints have turned the corner this off season. Was foolish to write them off as needing another 2 wooden spoons before they'd finally get off the bottom.

They play with spirit even when the chips are down and the score line looks ominous. Something entirely absent in our team, who just give up the moment they feel the game is unwinnable.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
