Jetta not available again? He must have really been knocked about. Was hoping that he might have been back this week.

Had a good chat to him, being directed by the medicos, is a dad with two young kids and if you have read anything about him, they come first, so doesn't want his health impacted, you may see him appear in a helmet, the last belt was the worst, if you look at the Howie mark, Nev wore Howie's knee right between the eyes

It's about the only impact Howe has had this year. And it took out a really important player for us. Cheers Jeremy!

Hopefully if Nev dons the helmet, it helps a bit. The science says it usually doesn't, but it's got to be better than nothing. You know the "player might go in harder" argument against helmet won't apply to him, he already goes in hard.

Not that it's at this point yet, but it would be totally balls if he ends up needing to pull the pin early due to excess concussions after all the work he's done to get up to scratch. Life's just not fair sometimes.

From what he said they may trial it, Roh Bail went through exactly the same thing, so the medicos have a base of knowledge to work from, he is not letting it get to him, there was another supporter I know who was at training today and she was getting the yearbook signed, Nev made a good play on how the concussion is affecting him whilst signing it, going as far as to deny he was in it, as he didn't remember getting the photo taken

How come they didn't trial the helmet with Bail, then?

He had the six weeks off, don't know whose suggestion it is, might be Nev himself, as I said might

Jamar???

The whole ruck division was present and correct, including Fitzpatrick and Pedersen working with Greg Stafford, but not Dawes

No JKH. Any reason?

I wore a helmet playing Rugby for my entire life and I can tell you that they do absolutely zilch for concussions. Stopped the cuts, but I was still groggy as a drunken sailor on many occasions.

was it a "helmet" or a padded cap?

don't know if this is so, but our main aim should be to build the list & make the right choices at this stage of our team development... so If Jetta has to miss another just to be safe, I'm OK with another player getting a chance to show if he's up to it, or not.

we have to shed some more players at years end & we are now into the meat of the season, where most players are up to speed now, so its the time IMO, to see who's able to cut 'the Keens Mustard' thus far, & who can't do it beyond here.

Cut 'em out, ride 'em in,

Ride 'em in, let 'em out,

Cut 'em out, ride 'em in

Well, it was a a padded helmet, didn't have a hard shell or anything. It wouldn't be much different to what he'd be expected to wear I wouldn't think, it he does wear one.

yes, these have been used before in the vfl/afl

certainly good for the cuts and self confidence

Some interesting safety ideas around here...

On the bright side, Jetta has a nicely shaped head for a helmet.

Is that like saying someone has a good head for radio?

Dunstall wore one for a few years after Earl Spalding fractured his skull accidentally. It didnt work for Jason either he has been speaking jibberish since he retired.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
