True. Will there be a C Wilson long piece on Sat about it?

Dont think so.. She could only write one if she had info via the AFL.. The AFL would have its knuckles wrapt if that were the case

But why don't we even hear reports of who has gone into the court etc?

Beacuse the AFL have learnt to keep the circus to a minimum, and the Journos have nothing with out the AFL or EFC telling them what to write.

The Journos love having their accreditation though, it is a bit hard to report on the AFL when the AFL wont let you in!

And just like the AFL, the IAAF will go all the way, in ensuring it can appear tough, while ensuring all of the big name countries are available for the Olympics.

Would be a bit concerned if I was a smaller player, as they will surely want to whip a scapegoat, to appease the public.

Yeah, if you havent guessed, I have no faith whatsoever in the integrity of sport, all around the world right now. While there is financial gain available, there will be cheating.

Please excuse me, while I take a break from my commentary on this situation, for a word from SportsBet, on the latest odds of the IAAF chasing this impartially, and without regard to politics.......As a bonus, if your bet is favored to miss the Olympics, but is given a last minute reprieve by IAAF, you get money back, up to $100.

Edits for jetlag spelling, and headache.

I can tell you this - It is not looking good for the players.

Looks like the players fronted up to give evidence to CAS: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/essendon-players-give-evidence-at-court-of-arbitration-for-sport-hearing-20151119-gl3cty.html

No news of other witnesses appearing.

If Charter, Alvi et al weren't called to appear WADA had a good reason not to.

Would suggest confidence in their case.

How do you know that?

We know no more than we did a week ago?

Can't really say, but the players will be very stressed at the moment.

As I understand it witnesses for CAS are under oath (unlike at the AFL Tribunal).

One of the players called as a witness was Jobe Watson.

He strikes me as an honest person who has led his team thru this saga with grit.

I can't imagine he would not tell the truth.

I hope there not guilty they only have 14 players left on there list and we have one tied away for 4 years, there's no benefit to us anymore for them to be found guilty.

Wada need to send a message.

Big time.

Systematically inject 90% of your players with god knows what and suffer the consequences.

I disagree. At the end of the day footy is 22v22.

If one set of 22 has an advantage because they took whatever - even if due to support staff - then they have cheated.

Not to mention health concerns etc with injecting unknown substances....

This is a line in the sand moment in our sport - give an inch and unscrupulous people at unscrupulous clubs will stretch it big time.

The players ARE ultimately responsible and must be punished: unfortunately 2.5% of our list may be part of it.

But the big losers must be those who planned and executed the scam, all of whom must have lifetime bans.

I know from experience we all have turning points in our lives, and we can usually remember them.

This could be one of those for a few people and they will find then that it will transcend anything sports wise in importance.

They are already spinning the silence by being silent themselves as though it no longer matters (the "move on" factor). The last desperate stand at OK corral Edited by Dees2014

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
