Yes and Tracy Holmes has been one of the worst offenders in the media in pushing the ESSENDON/Hird line, including being the ABC producer responsible for wheeling in Hird apologist academics nearly every time ABC News wanted "expert" comments on the subject. Listening to that interview again, I'm sure she did not realise what she was getting when she agreed to interview Paul Hayes - clearly an authoritative person on CAS and the Law. He certainly shot down much of the line she had been pushing for more than a year now

What does it matter who LU supports or even what their motive is. S/He has put forward cogent, coherent opinions based on reading the relevant articles. I have found it interesting to read an alternative view. Furthermore these have been put forward in a respectful and non-abusive manner. Why do you feel the need to disparage LU for doing this?

Irrespective of what people want the outcome to be, we all know that none of the views expressed here will influence the final verdict.

It will however certainly be interesting to bump this thread in due course.

The evidence that would prove that the drugs that were ordered, compounded, and paid for were legal and not the drugs that they were supposed to be.

So Daddy Watson thinks that his story that the AFL were trying to cut a deal just before the Tribunal announced its decision proves the Tribunal was independent. Strange that he should bother now.

But if the story is true then it is possible the AFL knew they were going to get off and they were certain that WADA would appeal which would mean the saga would drag on for even longer with a possibly worse outcome. In the absence of facts, wild speculation is fun.

Essentially the above has always applied but there are many in the football world including the media who have clouded the issue because of their own vested interests (and on both sides of the argument). The standard remains one of proof to the comfortable satisfaction of the tribunal hearing the case as to whether the Essendon players ingested the illegal substance TB4. There is more chance that Charter, Alavi and even Dank will be compelled to give evidence because of the different nature of the CAS Tribunal compared to that of the AFL. Supreme Court judge Croft ruled against compelling Charter and Alavi because it wasn't a court of arbitration - once they are compelled to give evidence the game changes.

As for Worksafe, don't hold your breath.

Re work safe they are essentially saying experimenting with substances not approved for human use is acceptable practice from a work safety perspective as long as records are not kept and it is in a sporting context.

Imagine if a trucking company had its drivers sign waiver forms, injected them with unknown substance and when caught claimed that they had given the 'good' stuff but could not prove it because no records were kept.

I prefer to change the AFL rules to state the Melbourne Football Club will be give a 100 goal head start each AFL game including the Grand Final. Wait this is not fantacy land were all you dreams and aspirations come true?
