Pedersen to get an opportuniy you'd think. Or possibly Michie and Dawes forced to play as back up ruckman?

Jeez these 4-6 week injuries are starting to pop up. Give Pederson an opportunity to get into the side again, had a very good first half of last year so hopefully he can bring that again and make it really hard for others to crack in. Fitzy is another who may get a chance with Frost out although I don't see that happening for a few weeks.

Good luck with recovery Frosty.

Like most of us, I think Frosty has a heap of upside. I reckon he is one of about a dozen or so current players who will form the nucleus of a pretty decent MFC team within the next few years. At this stage it's about getting games / experience into players of his ilk, so his injury could prove very untimely if he is sidelined for an extended period. Let's hope that 4 to 6 weeks is all that it takes.

Get Fitzy in. Can play Forward Ruck and now back. Has elite pace like Frost so i cannot see why he shouldn't get a gig this week?

I think he has been just ok so far in the first 3 rounds, but in saying that, I see him as an atheltic lock down defender like his brother. If they were intending on keeping him forward and second ruck, I would rather Pedersen who is not as athletic but a much more natural forward and a better mark.

I'd give Fitzy a run, been solid at Casey it would seem.

I understand the support for Pedersen, but he's 28, while Jack F is only 23. I'd rather at least try and build something with Fitzpatrick, more upside in the longer term if it pays off.

Suspect Pedersen is on his last year with the club, but the season is still young, so who knows.

I think we were playing one tall too many anyway. This means Michie or Bail can come in and rotate through the midfield to compensate for losing Viney.

I have always liked Dawes but he and Watts just need to pull their heads in - they are letting the team down.

Toumpas is another possibility but would like to see him develop at Casey.

Not really keen on seeing any of Fitzy, Grimes, Gawn, Pedo or McKenzie

Disappointing without being noose-worthy.

Injury list is actually looking pretty decent so far, knock on wood.

Not sure about that.

Petracca and JT out for the year.

Viney and Frost 4-6.

But yes it could be worse and has been in the past.

I think Fitzpatrick's cards were marked after he played the first 2 or 3 rounds last year and didn't lay a finger on the opposition. At 200cm and 100kg you can't be afraid of body contact like he is. You'd just love to be a defender walking down and seeing Watts and Fitz in the same forward line.

Pedersen and Dawes are too slow and can't play in the same side. The opposition would walk it out of defence.

I'd bring Michie in for more run. Hardly think Ben Griffiths is a competent or scary ruck so Dawes can go in and try and pull a finger out for once.

I'd also consider having Watts strap a shin guard on and get him physically involved in the match by being jumped into a few times. Could try and make up for some of his insipid efforts from the weekend.

All the above are impact injuries though, so not poor management just bad luck. We've had a decent run so far. Viney is the only guaranteed 22 player out of those too.

Seeing the potential of Brayshaw (our #3 pick) really starting to come to fruition, it saddens me that we won't get to see Petracca until next year, who in my opinion, was far more ready for AFL football (body, size etc.) than Brayshaw. Seeing Brayshaw blossom and shine and virtually almost cement himself into the top 22 makes me think what Petracca could have done this year.

Well Song, if Petracca is better than Brayshaw we are building a serious midfield. Toss in Hogan and we have some young (hopefully long term) guns.

He is meant to be, all be it different players, Brayshaw NEEDS a full game this week.

That long term word scares me, I'd love to see us extend (even more) Hogan's contract, a looming Freo haunts my dreams.

I would too. He is showing that much already that the vultures will be swooping.

All disappointing, but an opportunity for someone to step up.

Missed Viney badly at the weekend though.

Disappointing. Just hope we don't have a key defender injury by then. The ruck-forward thing was a worth experiment but I really want to see Frost as a key defender and to give us some depth in that position.
