Does anyone have any idea if and what the skipper is carrying ? He was good yesterday without been a standout. He just doesn't seem his usual self the past 2 weeks, obviously his entitled for a few quiet games and his set such a high standard that we expect so much from him. Just seems a bit down atm, I did notice around his left shoulder with some tape/strapping under his jumper.

Btw I'm not having a dig at him, just curious to see if anyone's heard anything

Looks like he was having injections or some sort of treatment because his shoulder had a bandage which didn't look like it was doing a structural job.

He looks sick so flu would explain it.

I agree that he just doesn't look well, so flu could be an explanation. We'll need him fit and firing against the Tiggers.

Still has that kamikaze attack on the ball even when not 100%.

Against GC early in the last quarter he had his arms pinned in a tackle, took him a while to get up & looked sore, it was on his left side, no idea if that's the problem thou

I noticed on the telecast at half time in the rooms that a physio was working on his left shoulder (which was strapped) and neck.

Have it on decent authority that his issue is to do with a his back/shoulder, had a bit of strapping there on the weekend

The flu could be a vague excuse leaked by the club to hide the nature of something more bothersome. If opponents knew he had a crook shoulder he may get the Ablett workout. He is NQR at the moment but still solid last week.

maybe he is just adapting to his new role; & maybe he is copping even more attention from the opposition. perhaps he could do with more of a 'chop out' from his team mates?

Definitively playing through pain barrier. Told he's having pre-game injections and half time - but obviously club are keeping issue under wraps.

Heard from the same source that Tmac has rib issue but will push through. Brutal game.

Yeah, I was at the light training session on Friday at AO and also the game on Saturday...

A fair few times I noticed that Jones was almost at a walk once the play had left his area... I believe the shoulder/back issue may well be bothering him, but I would almost bet my left knacker that a flu would be the main cause of his lower than usual "awesome" output... Just didn't seem right even on the Friday... Did a few light run throughs and was actually quite 'nasaly' when giving my lad a signature...

As for T-Mac... He copped a dirty one from Richard Douglas right in front of us... The Crows can bang on all they like about Bernie's tactics, but they gave a fair few cheap shots on the weekend!

Speaking of Bernie... I have some serious man love for that bloke now! :)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
